The third Arsenal goal should have stand. What is the point using Video Assistant Referee, but the referee himself never watched the replay video??? What is wrong with the FA? It should be named AAR Audio Assistant Referee. English football with are the most intense, passionate, quick passess and high tempo football game need an assistant referee, and the referee obligated to watch the replay video.
@What4- I'm not a "booer", I don't like it and it isn't conducive to producing a performance from the player, or team, when they're already low on confidence. I'm all for choice and fans are able to boo if they want- since they pay the players' wages, I just don't think it works. It also has to be said that Granit doesn't pick himself so Emery should be the target, if any. There is another comment to be made that Xhaka is simply not good enough for a club who should have long-term title ambitions. The good in his play is very good but the bad overshadows those attributes and we've seen little sig of improvement since he signed. I would be surprised to see him at the club next season, my guess would be a slower league like the Serie A which is closer to international football pace.
@What4 No player bigger than the club. No club would triumph without the fans. Specially those who held season ticket. For some years Arsenal FC fans pay the most for their seasonal tickets, before this season Spurs charge their fans more in their new stadium. The reaction of the Arsenal fans is not the problem. The problem is some of the players are mentally unprepare, the manager is clueless, and the top hierarchy priority is financial profit rather than football glory.
@totalfootball.433 Booing your own players who are doing their best is not a problem? What planet do you come from? Boo the result at the end of the game if that's how you feel, that sends a clear enough message. How does booing your captain, that the players voted for, help anything?
@What4 When did I say that booing will help??? Where??? The point is I understand why Xhaka get booed. But for me the problem is not only with Xhaka, Luiz, Sokr, Must, Ozil, Kolasinac etc. There are managerial problem, there different priorities between the fans and the board. I believe, I make my self clear. And you, from which planet you experience your football???
@What4 "How does booing your captain, that the players voted for, help anything?" Rhetorical question??? So what about "What planet do you come from?". Another rethoric??? Just quit your useless rethoric. You had address nothing, moreover you had offer no solution.
Jenkinson, Mustafi and Elneny played in the last game against Palace. Arsenal clearly improved not just the defense but the attack also (Pepe in for Ozil). 3-0 for Arsenal
People need to get behind the club. It was made clear to Ozil that if he wants to play regularly he needs to find another club, or presumably sign a new contract on a lower wage, because of the financial situation of the club--J. Kroenke himself spoke about that. We can all see what choice Ozil made. Of course he is entitled to stick to his contract. But Ozil and his team have done a great job in making Ozil look like the innocent victim in all this. He made his choice to take the money and not play, as it had been made clear to him by the club if he chose to stay. The problem for us is that Ozil is a very popular, he has a bigger social media following than the club. So Ozil's team has done brilliantly to make Ozil look like the injured party here, and the club is coming out of this with its reputation damaged in the eyes of fans. Remember, Arteta took a wage cut to join us. I for one stand behind the club on this one. No one is bigger than the club, never forget that.
"Remember who you are, what you are and who you represent." It's embarrassing so many people think Ozil is bigger the club. He'll continue collecting his wages, then when he runs down his contract, help himself to a signing-on fee somewhere else, and ride off into the sunset with his PR team having convinced everyone that he was the victim, and leaving our club damaged from the whole affair. Ozil is not bigger than the club. Arsenal FC, not Ozil FC.
At least Winston Bogarde was man enough to be honest about what he was doing. Tip of the hat to Ozil's PR team, they've done a great job, they get to write the narrative on this one.
This game Arsenal will struggle for sure, their recent performances were unconvincing. Crystal Palace will look for counter attacks with Zaha at the front but those don't seem to be productive lately. A lousy draw expected here.
When the first time I watched English football, I was puzzled with how the English fans gave applause when the referee point to the corner. It's not a penalty, what the hell the fans give their team applause??? I do understands how the English football play a more direct football (kick and rush) and there will be more crosses than any other top European leagues. But so many applauses for corner kicks, this thing rarely happen in Spanish, Italian, Germany football, moreover in Brazilian football.
So my conclusion was, that English fans expecting many goals from crosses (open play, free kicks and especially corner kicks). If the fans want many goals from corner kicks, naturally the attacking players will give their utmost effort to score goals from corner kicks. And the defending players know how to survive a corner kick. Positioning, man marking, jumping and heading.
@totalfootball.433 Those are old stereotypes. If you actually watch the league, teams play many styles, sometimes direct too. Most of the managers aren't even British, and haven't been for a while, and even that is stereotyping British managers. Also, fans aren't expecting goals from set pieces, it's more animosity towards the ref, or getting one over the opposition; it's competitive spirit, I don't know if you mincing Continentals know anything about that. Oh look, anyone can throw out a lazy stereotype. Don't forget, it was all-English finals in European competitions last season. Not bad for hoof-ball, don't you think?
Even if Emery given a five years contract extention, he will never win EPL or UCL for Arsenal FC with his current mentality.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that I don't like him.
I HATE HIM!!!
I don't believe that passionate, quick passes and a high tempo game with many crosses are taught to young Brazilian CBs. So I don't believe that Brazilian CBs are well equipped for English style of football. British and Irish CBs are the best to defend "aerial battle" in English football.
Alex (then 27yo) was the first Brazilian CB who won EPL, 2009/2010. But he played only 16 games (13 starting lineups + 3 subs). The next is David Luiz (then 30yo) 2016/2017, but Conte played Luiz on a formation of 3 CBs.
I do believe that Emery knows that Sokratis and Mustafi are liabilities. Or he should have know it. So Emery had a solution, he choose to go to market for a 32yo Brazilian CB. WTF...COME ON!!! Emery knows nothing about English football! And next he choose to democratize Arsenal FC for captaincy. Emery had no knowledge about his own players!
Emery will never give a better future for Arsenal FC. I want Arsenal FC to win EPL or UCL. What is the point to play UCL without winning it?
@totalfootball.433- David Luiz was a panic buy because Koscielny left. Emery tried to convince Laurent to stay but once he left we needed a CB. A late bid for Upamecano was rejected by Leipzig because it was below the buyout clause, so there were very few CBs available that late on in the transfer window. Leaving it late then panic buying has been a theme of Emirates-era Arsenal. Sometimes they work but I'm not a fan. I'd much rather get rid of a dissenting player early on in order to have more time to find a (potentially better) replacement than try to change his mind. Even if they stay, they create unrest a la Alexis.
@SteveHyland Luiz is a panic buying??? Chelsea had a transfer ban, but they sold him to play with Zouma and Tomori. It was not a panic buying, it was a recipe for disaster. Just like 2018/2019, Emery choose to play with Cech (then 36yo), did emery thought he can develope cech to be a better GK??? Why do Arsenal need to play with chelsea outcasts??? A brazilian CB??? Come on, Emery know nothing about English Football.
@totalfootball.433 Even if Emery given a five years contract extention, he will never win EPL or UCL for Arsenal FC with his current mentality.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that I don't like him. I HATE HIM!!!
If Arsenal had a coach, this would be a walk in the park. But with that idiot on the touchline, I expect a very narrow win. It's a win purely based on the crowd and 3 or 4 players. Emery is worse than Wenger. I'd even take a Pardew or Koeman other than this clown
The third Arsenal goal should have stand. What is the point using Video Assistant Referee, but the referee himself never watched the replay video??? What is wrong with the FA? Lol. Arsenal sucks. Not even being a money-bag team can buy them wins.
Disgraceful Arsenal fans, worst in the league. Taking out their frustrations on their own player. Shame!
@What4 Didn't you realize, that the fans booed Xhaka, because he reluctantly leave the field when Emery wanted to replace xhaka for Bukayo Saka?
@totalfootball.433- I've heard them boo Xhaka the last few times that he was subbed, even when he runs.
@What4- I'm not a "booer", I don't like it and it isn't conducive to producing a performance from the player, or team, when they're already low on confidence. I'm all for choice and fans are able to boo if they want- since they pay the players' wages, I just don't think it works. @SteveHyland Booing and jeering your club captain just because you think he's not good enough is incomprehensibly stupid.
@What4 No player bigger than the club. No club would triumph without the fans. Specially those who held season ticket. What's there left to say about this team. We repeat the same thing every week!
they bottle it again=DDD
Emery out!!
Kick Emery...
Arsenal team on the teamsheet looks a very attacking one.I fancy Pepe to score from a free kick again.
Jenkinson, Mustafi and Elneny played in the last game against Palace. Arsenal clearly improved not just the defense but the attack also (Pepe in for Ozil). 3-0 for Arsenal
Only Liverpool have beaten Arsenal this season.
@nexus747 Sheffield United
@nexus747 Pass the pibe
Crystal Palace to win 3-1
@SamuelOkellogum Sure, sounds logical
PEPE to score a free-kick :)
3-1

I'll never ever put my money or Arsenal. Never!!
0-1 Zaha

0-1 Zaha to get Emery sacked :D!
@stefanm he needs to go on a long losing streak to get sacked
