Watford
Tottenham
- Nigel Pearson will hope to name the same XI that started the 3-0 win at Bournemouth last week, but is sweating on the fitness of Abdoulaye Doucoure after it emerged he was taking painkillers in the victory.
- Christian Kabasele is suspended, while Kiko Femina, Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Sebastian Prodl miss out for the Hornets.
- Roberto Pereyra is among those pushing for a start after netting from the bench on Sunday.
- Jose Mourinho may switch to a three-man defence for the trip to Watford, with Japhet Tanganga dropping into the backline alongside Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld.
- The Spurs boss is without injured quartet Harry Kane, Ben Davies, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele, but Hugo Lloris is back in training for the visitors.
- Gedson Fernandes arrived from Benfica on loan on Wednesday and Mourinho has confirmed he will feature, but is unlikely to start.
A classic...
@eastend1 A classic what? Display by Tottenham?
Watford actually really good except for abyssmal finishing. Already 3 very good chances just in 2nd half
0-0
2-1
An in-form Watford on home soil, versus a misfiring Tottenham without their best attacking outlet and bereft of confidence... This cannot end well.
Probably: Tottenham concede early on and never quite get into the game. Hopefully: Watford fail to take their early chances and Tottenham score from a long shot or break away situation. On balance: Watford 1-1 Tottenham.
3-2
Everything is for Watford but Spurs is just better team and it will be back to normal. 1-3 or 1 goal win for Tottenham.
@oczkusss Yeah. Nigel Pearson has done remarkable work and everyone likes an underdog, but when you actually watch Watford play it becomes clear that they lack individual quality a lot and he can only take them so far.
Watford 2:1
Think Mourinho will try hard to avoid defeat here. The current run is getting embarrassing 1-2
Watford to win.
The small team with the small-minded manager will park the bus, but of course it won't work. Watford win.
1-0 Deulofeu !
over 2.5 goals
