Team News

Aston Villa
Man Utd
  • Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings both suffered injury scares against Liverpool but Dean Smith has played down both as being minor calf problems and both should be fit to start.
  • Frederic Guilbert and Henri Lansbury returned to the squad in the week and the former will be pushing for a start as a more natural alternative at right-back to Ezri Konsa.
  • After a spirited display against the champions, changes are likely to be kept to a minimum, with Pepe Reina keeping his place in goal and Neil Taylor continuing to deputise for Matt Targett.
  • Victor Lindelof is struggling with a back problem and is a doubt for the trip to Villa Park as a result, with both Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones still sidelined.
  • As such, should the Swede fail to recover in time Eric Bailly would partner Harry Maguire at the back in what would likely be the only change from another impressive attacking display last time out.

Prediction

  • Dean Smith will have been very pleased with his side's endeavour in a defeat at Anfield that saw Villa muster more shots than Liverpool, restricting the hosts to just six, but a lack of quality in the box was the issue yet again.
  • There are no such concerns for United, who have been free-scoring of late with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking the shackles off his side, and this match should be no different.
  • Villa's defensive resolve has been much improved since the restart and could prove more tricky to break than United's most recent opponents but the visitors quality will surely tell once more.

  • I think I can get used to having "WWWWW" in the forrm column!

  • What a dive by Bruno that was never a penalty honestly talking.

  • @stefanm ''fail for United please'' 10 hours ago, you can cry us a river now.

  • Good game MU!

  • Greenwood is just phenomenal. His confidence and precision, just brilliant.. And Im stating that not just as a United fan but a football fan in general

  • Are you kidding me? The Villa defender pulled out of the challenge and Fernandes jumped onto him, yet someone it's a penalty for Man United?

  • @Nico1 came here looking for your comment. That was a soft penalty. That is what a soft penalty looks like lol

  • @atalpandey7 It's not a "soft penalty" it's a foul for Villa. It's not a penalty in the slightest.

  • @Renewed I know it isn't a penalty. Just being sarcastic; visiting the comment section of the Utd vs Bournemouth game thread will help you understand why i sarcastically claimed it to be a "soft penalty".

  • @Nico1 A Liverpool fan who watches every game of United and cries over decisions every week here, obsession is on another level. Reckless tackle, clear block, clear penalty. Shut up and get a life.

  • @Byakuya It literally wasn't even a tackle. The Villa defender pulled out and Fernandes jumped on him

  • @Nico1 Tripped, look at his leg. If you don't look at where you slide, it's a reckless tackle and it's a foul. So, that's a penalty. They didn't even use VAR.

  • @Byakuya He didn't slide. Bruno jumped over the ball and landed on his leg. Then he starts screaming and rolling around, pathetic

  • @Nico1 How he landed on his leg if he didn't slide? If you didn't see his leg between Bruno's legs, I can't help you because you're blind. It's 3-0 already and you're still arguing about a penalty. You're pathetic, not Bruno.

  • @Byakuya The premier league have now come out and admitted it wasn't a penalty. They agreed with me and said it should have actually been a foul on Konsa. Guess you're the one who was blinded........

  • @Byakuya Evra, Neville and Roy Keane all said it was never a penalty? Are they blind too?

  • Vila to continue confirming their relegation form

  • @eastend1 I would be shocked if Villa didn't win 3-0.

  • Man Utd to WIN and OVER 2.5 Goals @ 1.83 odds

  • Fernandes is having the same impact at Man Utd as Cantona did.Very similar playing styles too.Give him the number 7 shirt next season :)

  • @nexus747 If you only count the EPL games since he started playing, ManU is 2nd, 1 point behind LFC with 1 game more to play. Imagine if Solskjær would have gotten him at the beginning of the season like he wanted to.

  • @alx30 Or Haaland

  • @alx30 Impossible to look good in the EPL if you have to work with the likes of Lingard and Pereira

  • No Holte End no Party

  • BTTS 2.5+ goals

  • 1-3

  • Pogba to sign a new contract as of his improved form alongside Fernandes.

  • @nexus747 I want to see Pogba play under Zizou and alongside Benzema - could be quality chemistry

  • Man U To Win

  • 0:3 MU

  • fail for United please

  • red devils to win 3-1 bruno - greenwood - martial

  • Another long night for Villa on their route to the championship

  • 1-2

  • 1-4 MU

  • Easy walk in the park for United. After the first goal it’s game over basically.
