Team News
Man City
Arsenal
- Kevin De Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte both missed the last defeat to rivals Manchester United back in March but are both back available and will surely start on Wednesday night.
- Meanwhile, Leroy Sane has also come through practice matches over the past week or so unscathed and is fit to feature for the first time all season, competing for a place on the wings with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.
- Indeed, Pep Guardiola has a fully fit squad to choose from, though may well rotate heavily over the next month given their situation; realistically unable to catch leaders Liverpool and banned from Champions League qualification.
- Full-backs Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney are all fit for selection having missed large chunks of the season through injury.
- Calum Chambers and Lucas Torreira remain absentee having suffered serious injuries prior to lockdown, while Sokratis is out, but elsewhere Mikel Arteta has a much larger pool of players to select from.
- For the time being, Bukayo Saka may keep his place as a makeshift left-back, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had played well from the wing before the break, allowing Alexandre Lacazette to return up front.
It's going to be bad to worst. I've been saying it over and over. David Luiz would never suit the EPL, sometimes he play good long passing, but most of the time he lost perpective of his main duty, the defensive part. Luiz did won EPL with Chelsea, but Conte play with 3 CBs. BTW, it's the most ridiculous Arsenal team in many decades, we have one of the highest paid players. But he never bothered when Arsenal lost as long as Arsenal continue to pay his wage. Arsenal have to get rid of 'carsinogenic' players and let Arteta have 3 and half season. Next season is a time to reorganize and rebuild, 2021/2022 aim to top 4 and at least a final in minor cup. My sincere hope is the board to build a winning mentality team, rather than monetizing Arsenal for profit.
So within the last 6 matches from Nov-2019, Man City scores 17 while Arsenal scores 2
I'm pretty sure Aubameyang decided today that he's leaving the club lol
I think this is the lowest rating I've ever seen in this website.
@MrNemobody Not at all.
@Thypot You're right, they just mentioned Pickford on Twitter. I think David Luiz's performance was much worse than Pickford that day though.
@MrNemobody Yes!
Ladies and gentlemen, the Arsenal fun fair is open for business again!
David Luis. he always create chances for strikers. You can wait for penalties and assists from him. What a skill !!! He is really the best No 12 in the history of football.
City came for blood:)
What a player David Luiz , Man of the match hahahahhahahahha :DD!
@stefanm 3.8 he is improving
@sampo hope he extends the contract~ he deserves it after tonights wonderful performance! :DD
@stefanm His agent says: "The chances are very high of Luiz being at Arsenal next season. There is no desire to leave." xD
ThE bEsT LeAgUe. CoMpETiTiVe
No controversy about error lead to goal but yes about penalty was too harsh. Both players were fighting for the right position and Mahrez dived a bit.
@dib It was similar to the incident between Nketiah and Garcia earlier, except that was outside the area, and the ref ignored it.
David Luiz masterclass
Honk honk
David Luiz!!! The Arsenal key man!!! xD (see Whoscored news from Monday, Jun 1 2020 16:25)
Leno as usual trying his best to block all the holes in that sieve we call our defence.
I'm going with: Black Lives Matter 3 3 Black Lives Matter
Thanks, idiot.
@What4 He's right, you know.
@splint3r lol no i was totally wrong - how stupid of me to think this brain dead arsenal side could score three goals!
@What4 Power and Prosper, Comrade!
3-1
@nexus747 I'll be shocked if Arsenal didn't win 1-0
@SeuneMilmas You shocked now?
0:2
@albgunn We've been poor against Man City in recent times, I just can't see us getting anything out of this game.
Finally PL again! And atleast we get to see one good team too. Wish there were two.....
If there's something I've learned from watching all these leagues return is that the break can have unpredictable effects on form. I wouldn't expect the teams to return to playing at the same level as before necessarily. Expecting a slow game. 1-0.
2-1
2-2
F*ck coronavirus
Did anyone watch the Belarusian league during the shut-down?
@What4 were they televising it outside Belarus?
@Gooner09 Where there's a will there's a way. ;-)
@What4 No, did you?
@Fromhell No, just curious if anyone did. Not even Hleb could get me to watch that league, no offence.
4-0.
Arsenal to win this one. Easy Win
@mistawess Sure
Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis contracted coronavirus and visited the London club's Emirates Stadium. He then shook hands with EVERY Arsenal player.
@nexus747- Reports are that he only shook hands with one Arsenal player, I'm guessing Sokratis. None of the Notts Forest players have tested positive and Brighton have said that the game against Arsenal at the weekend will go ahead.
This game has been Postponed due to the virus.
The EPL will most likely end early in the next 7-10 days so Liverpool would need to get the wins needed ASAP to win the EPL.The italians are also said to be finishing their season from now.
@nexus747 No. Italy just halted Serie A until April 3rd. No reason to expect a quarantine on England anytime soon.
Arsenal definitely don't want to play City at this time of the season 4-1 reason
@tboyjojo Save your weak jokes for the 18th of March, that's going to be a real side-splitter. ;-)
@tboyjojo I'd 8-2 be an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't want to go 2-1 of their matches
1-2 Arsenal so that Liverpool can win the title next Monday
We will get peppered with Sokratis at RB and Nketiah upfront. We need to pull a Simeone and sit in 4-4-2
@Futbol101- It's the law at Arsenal that we use the 4-2-3-1 even if it means putting square pegs in round holes. There also seems to be a view among the more "casual" Arsenal fans that Lacazette, the 2018/19 Arsenal Player of the Season, has become a bad player- despite being in his physical prime- and that a 20-year old who couldn't force himself into the first XI for a team in the Championship would be a better option leading the line. Football fans are often regarded as fickle but the first syllable is more apt.
4-1
