If you want to see the best performance in the past couple days, look at Manchester United's performance against Brighton. You will see some outstanding goals there!
2-2 FT. Atleti isn't playing well and I still think they drop points here. That could be a wish in the well but that's what I'm going with here at half.
I am still pondering about how could Simeone play Felix as a forward, when the Felix's natural position is to play as an attacking midfielder. He has to play behind Morata and Diego Costa and then Atletico would finally score some goals. But as it is, Koke is the sole forward looking midfielder who is still a defensive midfielder. No wonder that Atletico is barely scoring any goals. And paying 120 million for someone who is playing out of position, and therefore only gives maybe 20% of his capacity (while also disabling players like Morata and Costa because they are NOT getting the service they need from him) is not only a luxury but straightforward foolishness. And if now somebody comes with what they have done to Liverpool, I dont' give a damn. Football is first and foremost entertainment and source of inspiration for all those people who actively play this sport. In that sense, neither Atletico nor Real Madrid inspires anything. The only inspiring team is Atalanta presently!
@jackpancake Gets the job done? Do you really think that these players get those exorbitant sums of money to "get the job done"???! Football is an entertainment, a distraction so that we don't preoccupy ourselves with what our leaders do. THAT'S WHY THEY PAY THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY! If they would get paid by the performance they actually deliver, I would relegate all these "superstars" nowadays into hobbyists and would send them to work, in addition to playing. These guys nowadays have no fkn' clue about real football. If you wanna see real football look at Atalanta (scored 80 goals!!!), as opposed to garbage teams like Juventus or Inter. Atalanta has a real coach (Gasperini) who knows what I am talking about and in his team virtually everyone can score, except the goalkeeper. That's why they score 80 goals + in a season! Not because they want to "get the job done"!
It will be a garbage game just as with the Real Madrid - Getafe game. I can't believe when expensive squads that are able to rotate almost their full squad with internationally acclaimed players go out with a defensive attitude and having no respect whatsoever for the fans. If we would work like they play football, we would find ourselves on the street on the same day. But not them: they are playing golf (Gareth Bale), collecting their exorbitant salaries (Zidane) while doing nothing special!
@Zoltan
Atletico is much more efficiently run than Real Madrid, who spend however much money they want with low expectations. "No respect whatsoever for the fans" meanwhile Simeone is an absolute legend for Atleti fans. I get it, you can't see just how good the most elite athletes and coaches in the world are from your armchair
@jackpancake I agree with you to a certain extent but I played footbal even today before the Atletico game and my natural position is attacking midfielder. So I speak from experience: I know exactly what real football looks like. I know how important is to move the ball around quickly so that I can surprise the opposition and give them no time to react. I know how to set up the forwards with great through ball passes, I know how to pass back the ball so that a teammate can shoot it right away. And I know that real football is impossible without an attacking midfielder. Yet, all the teams today have no creative midfielders (Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Busquets, Rakitic, Vidal all play in defensive roles in the midfiedl, IRRESPECTIVE of their natural talents), while the truly creative guys like James Rodrigues sit on the bench. But I can also give a counterexample: look at Papu Gomes in Atalanta: that little guy plays every 3rd day and delivers outstanding attacking midfielder performances.
Mallorca have now lost 13 of their last 20 games and this will be their seventh game in 18 days.Mallorca have failed to score in nine of their last 16 games.
@nexus747 Of course! But the rotation might help. That being said, I wouldn't give a rat's ass for putting money on Atletico scoring even one goal! Their attitude is terrible towards football and what's worse, now even Real Madrid is trying to emulate it (reference to their hard fought 1-0 win - with a penalty - against Getafe: a performance that would have surely been white handkerchieved by the demanding Real supporters). Zidane is garbage as a coach - he proves it every time when he is achieving 1-0 s with an expensive squad like his!

Will Atletico Madrid be tired from the Barca game ?
