Team News

  • Julio Cesar Falcioni has returned for his fourth stint as Banfield manager and is expected to partner Julian Carranza and Agustin Fontana up front in a 4-4-2.
  • Another of the talented youngsters, Agustin Urzi starts on the left with Luciano Gomez on the opposite flank.
  • Luciano Lollo may return to the side in central defence.
  • Nahuel Bustos and Jonathan Menendez scored in the win over Aldosivi last time out and both continue up front in an unchanged side.
  • Adrian Cubas anchors the midfield with Tomas Pochettino and Juan Mendez in support.
  • Enzo Diaz was excellent at left-back, and that sees Facundo Medina slot into the centre with Juan Komar.

  • The goalless draw with Defensa y Justicia proved enough for Banfield to lose patience with Hernan Crespo and turn back to the familiar face of Julio Cesar Falcioni. Certainly the Emperor knows the club and the players inside-out, so should need little time to get up to speed.
  • Three wins and third in the table, Alexander Medina has made an excellent start at Talleres. Defending well and breaking at speed with Menendez, Fragapane and Bustos, La T are back to doing what made them a success under Frank Kudelka.
  • Falcioni's return should boost Banfield and will make this a tougher game than it would have been for Talleres.
