@BeautifulLoser "Except it is the last match of one of the goalkeepers" which is exactly the case. Sirigu won't have other occasions to play in the cup and this will be his final tournament with Italy.
Your comment, based on prejudice and stereotypes, is the only disrespectful thing here.
@MEHJones Nope. It's substituting the goalkeeper with no apparent reason one minute before the final whistle. You never do that in a competitive match. Never ever. Except it is the last match of one of the goalkeepers. It's just disrespecting the opponent. Imagine Löw doing that with Neuer against Brazil (7-1) or Flick against Barcelona (8-2).
@BeautifulLoser interesting. Goalkeeper have been substituted in the last minutes before penalties but I know what you mean. I didn't think it was disrespectful, perhaps a bit stupid. Wales could still have had a late chance and new goal keeper might not have been fully focused.
@BeautifulLoser "Mancini even sending Sirigu on for a few minutes in goal. His approach with this squad speaks to his own regrets as a footballer. Went to a World Cup in 1990 and didn't play. Says it's still his greatest regret that he never got to play in one."
The Wales line up is out and it looks like five at the back with Ramsey as a false nine. Hmmm. Also Moore and Davies, who are both on yellows, are benched. Strategic genius or overly cautious?
Italy are obviously favourites and capable of beating Wales by several goals especially at home. However, they don't need to win and a draw might suit both sides. I can see Italy scoring early but then taking their foot off the gas. Moore, Ramsey, Brooks, James, and Bale are all capable of getting something back for Wales from a half chance (perhaps from a set piece) and making a game of it. Hopefully, a good game. Italy 2-1 Wales
I was at the match last time Italy and Wales played one another. Yes, Italy won 4-0. However, a bit of context the preview doesn't mention is that Wales were leading the group with four wins from four which included a 2-1 over Italy at home. Italy were under a bit of pressure from their press and took the reverse fixture very seriously, moving it from Rome to fortress Milan. It was 0-0 at half time but Wales couldn't hold out and Italy eventually made their depth of quality count and finished group winners.
Wales v Group B Second Place in the last 16.
3 partite, 3 vincite, ZERO gol consegnati! Incredibile Italia!
@GioMonaldo 3 partite, 3 vittorie, 0 goal subiti, to be precise.
@BeautifulLoser yup I'm still learning :)
Italians will be Italians. In other words: disrespectful.

@BeautifulLoser what do u mean?
@Sexyboy1 probably referring to Mancini comparing Wales to Stoke :)

Harsh red
@MEHJones Exuse me harsh? Are you ok? Pure 100% red card absolutely no dobt about that!
If the Swiss win then Wales will finish 2nd in the group even of Wales lose to Italy.
@Rensen depending on goal difference.
Even with the B team, Italy looks giant!
0-0 half,3-0 final!simple.
Italy make 8 changes but the players coming into the team will want to prove they can get into the Italian first team. .
@Rensen Verratti has been great so far.
@Rensen that's true :/
Over 1.5

Group A is the only group featuring four teams with FIFA world rankings in the top 30: Italy (7), Switzerland (13), Wales (17), Turkey (29)
Wales currently have the best winning percentage in European Championships history (63%, 5/8). I'm celebrating it while it lasts :)

Italy will win this even if they rest players.
