Teams with the most possession in Europe: 1 Bayern, 2 Paris, 3 Barcelona, 4 Manchester City -- They are all the teams with the most wins and on top or second place in the table ...
The team with less possession will always enjoy a higher probability of winning., as Liverpool have shown in the Champions League final and France in the World Cup final.
@SeuneMilmas What's the big deal about your observation??? Even a small child should know that quality dominates over quantity! Only today's idiot sports media and their herd like followers would think that football based on ball possession dominates efficient football!!! Remember once for all: quality rules! Play the fkn' game, don't just hog the ball without any creative ideas up front!!!
@SeuneMilmas Teams with the most possession this season, Bayern, Barca, PSG, Leverkusen, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid and Dortmund. 9 of these 10 teams are in the knockout stages of the champions league. You can try and focus on isolated matches to prove your argument, but by and large teams with the most possession are the most successful.
What did I tell you guys below before the start of the game??? That Liverpool is overrated, its front three attackers have been out of form in the past 3 months and they managed only to edge about 90% of their Premiership games by a single lucky goal in the last minute or in the extra time! That they barely managed to beat the last team in the Premiership, Norwich, by a single goal towards the 75th minute. That time may come when the ball will fall for another team defensively shrewd enough to protect the lead and TODAY it happened. Atletico got lucky; the ball fell for them at this time and Liverpool was now at the short end of the stick! Of course I did not know for sure, but I knew that this game is totally unpredictable! Two very defensive, but attacking-wise out of form teams ended up in a lucky 1-0 encounter. There was no way to predict this result - only that it is very much on the cards for Liverpool to be edged out by another team, just as they got extremely lucky before!
@Zoltan You have a lot to learn about football. Firstly, Liverpool did not win 90% of their games by a singly lucky goal. in the last 3 months. This is merely a fantasy in your head. Secondly, There is a big difference between 'overrated' and being 25 points clear in their own competition while firing on all cylinders. Staying calm, composed and having belief that eventually the goal will fall is also a quality and not solely attributed to 'luck'.
Also, not sure how you can label Liverpool as 'defensive' since they basically play with two cb's or two cb's with one midfielder slotting in between them while both fullbacks become midfielders and/or wingmen. The only defensive midfielder Liverpool has is Fabinho. Hendo is midfielder, Wijnaldum is an attacking midfielder playing in midfield. Ox is an attacking midfielder, Keita is a box to box midfielder, Milner can play in numerous positions. The fact that Salah hasn't been prolific (abilitywise) doesn't make them overrated.
@Zoltan Well you've gone out and jizzed yourself over 1 defeat. If Liverpool are so **** explain 34 wins from the last 35 games in the premier league, explain current champions of Europe?
@Nico1 At this point you have some explanation to do buddy, not me: how come Liverpool's front three gave such a poor attacking performance tonight in spite of 34 wins from the last 35 games in the premier league? Answer: this is the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE in which you may have some teams like Atletico that want the victory even more than you. Liverpool racked up 34 wins from the last 35 games with an out of form front three in the second half of this season because THEY WANTED TO WIN MORE THAN THE OTHER TEAMS. But now they met THEIR MATCH: Atletico wanted it even more! That's all! ;)
@Zoltan First you ask why the front three gave a poor performance and then you state that they've been in poor
form. You just answered your own question. If Liverpool struggles to win games with big numbers in the Premier League
then it's an already present issue, regardless of the opposition in the Champions League. Basically you're claiming that
Atletico wanted to win more and that's what gave them the win. This is debatable since we clearly saw Liverpool trying to
force a goal. If you couldn't tell, van dijk was playing as striker for a while. To me this indicates motivation to win. Also,
Mané is Liverpools best out of the front three and recently came back from a slight injury. In conclusion: Atletico scored
a lucky goal and deserved at least a point while Liverpool as a team had a rare off day. Does that make them overrated?
Intelligent people would say no.
Liverpool are an incredibly bad team (not that Atletico are good) and this will continue showing in every tournament except the PL, where everything has been previously set up for them to win.
@Nico1 By playing the worst finalist in CL history (worse even than Monaco in 2004), who shouldn't even have been there. By all right you should have been playing Manchester City. Do you think a final against City would have been THAT easy?
@stefanm Thomas Tuchel did it with PSG as well if I'm not wrong. And there was also Ancelotti with Napoli; who everyone obviously knows about what happened
Disgraceful refereeing. Atletico players diving and feigning injury all over the place but the referee allowed them to get away with it time and time again.
@uefalona That's Atletico's defence in general! Liverpula will not get into the next round! Same with City and soon to be baned from Champions League : PSG ! UK teams will be BREXITED !!! muahzhahahhahaha
@alexandrion91 You shouldn't talk about things if you are a complete ignorant. Ever heard of TPO? Third party ownerships? Well, basically it is a fraud that Atletico is practicing to an excess. If UEFA would take a closer look, Atletico would wake up in the fourth spanish league.
@agunchev You can't compare Messi with any other player in the world! And this comes from an Real Madrid fan!He was, is and will be the best ever ! He has nothing to prove anymore!
@alexandrion91 Only Ronaldo scored 3 hattricks against this Atleti ever since Oblack become the keeper. Messi has yet to score against Real Madrid after he scored a goal in 2018.
There are many hopeful comments here about Liverpool, citing the number of shots per game and the scored goals. But unless there is an early goal today, we are in for a really ugly defensive game "played" by both sides. I cannot stand when capable teams are waiting for the others to make a mistake or trying to "reserve" their energy for who knows what. Just put the game away for God's sake instead of that defensive garbage!
We are talking about 2 defensive teams which is pretty ridiculous when we think about Liverpool with Salah, Mane, and Firminho. But those 3 have not been in form in the past 2 months in spite of Liverpool's long winning series. They have been winning by small margins in over 90% of their encounters by scoring in the last minute or in overtime. But there comes a time when a similar opposition could also benefit this way: defensive teams don't normally live up their potential because they are too cowards. It is tough to predict which coward will win in this case! They might just settle for a draw as good cowards.
@Zoltan Maybe, but an away goal in the 1st leg is a huge advantage, and surely Liverpool know this, that's why I guess something like 0-1. Liverpool are still the best team in the world, and Atletico are not quite what they used to be, both defensively and offensively.
@Zoltan You obviously haven't watched these teams that much. They didn't go through past the groupstage by just being defensive. Sure Liverpool have had a couple of last minute wins in the PL, but that don't make them a "defensive team".
@Zoltan Liverpool is likely to use counter attacking against Atletico Madrid. Secondly the reason behind Liverpool's low scoring games it's just simple they are ''reserving their energy''
@aboutbetting I agree: this game is totally unpredictable! However, if Liverpool would play attacking football as they are capable of, they would win for sure. But Klopp might just be a fukin' pussy and wait for Atletico to make a mistake, which may never happen! I would love to be on the coaching bench instead of these cowards!!!
@SeuneMilmas What an absolute load of ****. As What4 pointed out Guardiola is one of the most successful managers in the modern game. 2nd of all do you know who the top 10 teams in terms of possession are this season in Europes top 5 leagues? Bayern, Barca, PSG, Man City, Leverkusen, Dortmund, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid.
Don't know where you got your statistics from cos that stats clearly show the top possession teams are also the best teams!
...finally, Liverpool only managed to beat the last Premiership Team (Norwich) by one single goal in the 75th minute - not the hallmark of an in form team by any means! And Atletico's defense will be a much tougher nut to crack for sure!
@Zoltan How does 1 game define and in form team? Liverpool have won 34 of their last 35 matches in the premier league. They are literally the most in form team in the history of football!
@Zoltan They had a day off and just came from the winter break. Norwich game was probably perfect to get the rythm back in their legs before playing Atletico.
...besides, arguably two of the world's best goalkeepers (Allison and Oblak) will further make the result unpredictable: will they both play at top level, or just one of them. Which one? You have no way to tell. In case they both play at top level, both teams need to play very offensively, which they don't because they are cowards. A coward strategy will not lead to goals unless one of the keepers will blink.
Look at the bets below and it will be obvious: DO NOT BET on this game. It could be anything: a decisive Liverpool win, a surprising Atletico win, a boring draw (0-0) an exciting draw (2-2), and even a clean sheet for one of the winners. It will all depend on who will blink first and how soon he will blink. Both teams play a stupid strategy based on safety first and wait for the opposition to make a mistake. All the while both teams play great defense, so a 0-0 would be a most likely result. That is, if the ball wouldn't be round and players would not make errors. But players nowadays cannot handle well stress and pressure and someone might make a mistake, on which the opposition will pounce and will punish. If you win it will only be by chance: 50-50%. So do NOT bet!
@Zoltan Payout minus taxes and fees for LFC win is 2.30 right now. So the actual odds need to be higher than 43.5% (including 50-50) for it to be worthwhile. It's never 100%. We're talking about the strongest and most consistent team of Europe vs one that barely managed to win once in the last 7. I'm not saying anyone should bet or that betting is a good idea. But if we're comparing odds, those look pretty sweet.
@Shawn_Tafari I tottaly agree with you : 0-4 for Liverpool ....or 0-0 ....If Liverpool get a goal , Madrid will try to go forward and will concede another 3 ...
@MUATSCINMA Liverpool (kind of) struggles against good defensive teams with solid tacs that counter well. Atletico is certainly a bad type for them and it's football, but in their current form it would be a pretty big upset. Great value for LFC win if you ask me.
Costa to continue doing what he does best whenever he saw Liverpool- scoring goals we all remember his goals for Chelsea in PL =DDDD Hater can only continue crying I just stated the facts
Teams with the most possession in Europe: 1 Bayern, 2 Paris, 3 Barcelona, 4 Manchester City -- They are all the teams with the most wins and on top or second place in the table ...

@SeuneMilmas lol

@Nico1 Congratulations to Borussia Dortmund for registering less than 50% at home and a 2-1 win.

@Zoltan The amount of salt you've been holding on for months and months, is unleashed all at once for everyone here to see and laugh at. hahhahaha
@Zoltan while not* firing on all cylinders
@Zoltan You have a lot to learn about football. Firstly, Liverpool did not win 90% of their games by a singly lucky goal. in the last 3 months. This is merely a fantasy in your head. @Zoltan I can't agree with you anymore. If Liverpool is really strong enough, losing 0:3 match is never happened in the last season.
Liverpool are an incredibly bad team (not that Atletico are good) and this will continue showing in every tournament except the PL, where everything has been previously set up for them to win.
@splint3r So how did we win the champions league last year then?
@Nico1 By playing the worst finalist in CL history (worse even than Monaco in 2004), who shouldn't even have been there. By all right you should have been playing Manchester City. Do you think a final against City would have been THAT easy?
@splint3r Pretty sure Liverpool 2005 is even worse, but that worst team won in 2005.
@arcglenum Yes, that's why I said finalist. The worst champion is Olympique de Marseille in 1993, followed by Liverpool in 2005.
@splint3r You are pretty dense but you don't even know it lol
@arcglenum Oh, yeah? How did you reach that conclusion?
@splint3r lmao hopeless.
Bravo Atleti!!!
Simeone Masterclass!
@KlaasJanHuntelaar Finally this lucky coach Klopp lost the game. Hope this is only the start . :D
@Nico1 Classic spanish performance. They basically invented this back in the 60s.
Premier league is garbage
hahahahahaha liverpula!
Awful performance by liverpool..0 shots on target.
Is it madrid girls? Why they fall down and act like dying at every contact with a Liverpool player? Rofl.
@dzvinka Why isn't Liverpool able to get at least one shot on target ? That is more interesting to look at ...
@neumi17 Because Atletico's defense at home is like a wall. Nothing can get past it.
@uefalona Ronaldo did. Many times. He had 3 hattricks against Oblack's Atletico..
@uefalona Messi got past it.
@agunchev Ronaldo had 3 hattricks against Atletico when Oblack become the keeper. Messi zero. Just saying.
Liverpool in 10 minutes are unrecognizable
...and there is the early goal I was writing about :) But what a surprise: from the part of Atletico!!!

@Zoltan Both Liverpool and Atletico Madrid had the most shots per game of their group. (16 and 17.3)
@Zoltan The team with the most goals in Europes top 5 leagues this season is PSG with 67, Liverpool have 61. Hardly a defensive team are they?
@Zoltan Maybe, but an away goal in the 1st leg is a huge advantage, and surely Liverpool know this, that's why I guess something like 0-1. Liverpool are still the best team in the world, and Atletico are not quite what they used to be, both defensively and offensively.

0--0
Correa to score and yellow for Henderson . 2-1
0-1 or 1-1. Under 2.5 goals
both games should be at different times
Home win.
Liverpool to win and Over 1.5 goals @ 3.25 odds
@nexus747 try corners
@nexus747 As usual, the team with less possession will win the game.
@SeuneMilmas nah Liverpool will win and Atletico a lot of possession.
@yash8117 Statistics say otherwise. The less Guardiola-like a team is, the likelier they are to win.
@SeuneMilmas What an absolute load of ****. @Nico1 As usual, the team with inferior possession won.
@SeuneMilmas Well that explains how Man City won the PL the previous two seasons.
@What4 Cheating explains it. Doesn't hurt to analyse matters by examining more than one variable (GUARDIOLA!).
Liverpool have lost two of their last 14 European matches.Atletico have inuries to key players.
X2&0-3 goals in match
Cards, corners, fauls, but goals...i dont think so
2:2
@Ferguson or 1:1

@Zoltan best bet oddwise is Liverpool to win and Mane to score... 6 odd
0-2
1-1 Liverpool not good away in Europe.
@koziol.mutant In the group stage* Liverpool have been performing great after the group stage in the two present seasons now
Liverpool are good odds to win this.Atletico this season have been very poor. 1-3
0-2 Liverpool win with clean sheet
0-4. Liverpool are going to squeeze the life out of them
@Shawn_Tafari I tottaly agree with you : 0-4 for Liverpool ....or 0-0 ....If Liverpool get a goal , Madrid will try to go forward and will concede another 3 ...
