Team News

  • Fulham welcomed right-back Kenny Tete from Lyon on Thursday and he might be thrown in at the deep end here given their shortcomings in defence.
  • The Cottagers have also welcomed left-back Antonee Robinson and Mario Lemina on loan from Southampton, with both pushing for debuts on Saturday.
  • Alphonse Areola signed from Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night as Fulham's new No.1 but it's unclear whether he will jump straight into the action give the sharp turnaround. Last season's No.1 Marek Rodak is on standby.
  • Scott Parker's side have made Harrison Reed and Anthony Knockaert permanent signings following their loan stints last season.
  • Alfie Mawson was a regular for Fulham during the first half of 2019/20 but has now left to join Bristol City on loan. Big money signings Jean Seri and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa will be given a clean slate if no buyers come in but neither are expected to go straight into the starting XI after loan stints away last season.
  • Arsenal fear David Luiz could be sidelined for up to six weeks after aggravating a neck injury in their Community Shield win over Liverpool at the end of August.
  • William Saliba is more likely to deputise than fellow summer arrival Gabriel, as the latter has only been able to train with the first-team for the last week.
  • Rob Holding was due to join Newcastle on loan but Mikel Arteta wants to keep the 24-year-old at Arsenal this season and he is due to start here with Sokratis out.
  • Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Bukayo Saka may be required at left wing-back here with Kieran Tierney required in Arsenal's back three for now.
  • Emiliano Martinez will not travel as Arsenal negotiate his transfer away, with Bernd Leno back as first-choice for the new season.
  • Arsenal have re-signed Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid for another season and landed ex-Chelsea winger Willian on a free. Both will feature at Craven Cottage.
  • Eddie Nketiah was in superb goalscoring form for England's U21s during the break and could lead the line ahead of Alexandre Lacazette here.

  • Fulham are back in the Premier League after beating Brentford in the Championship play-off final in the summer. The Cottagers are handed a tricky opening game, having lost their last five matches against Arsenal.
  • Arsenal are on the right path under Mikel Arteta having defeated Chelsea and Liverpool to win the FA Cup and Community Shield, respectively, in recent months. The Gunners are still working hard to bring in new faces for the new season but are heavy favourites heading to Craven Cottage.

  • Arsenal win but not with this formation and squad.Pepe or Laca should play,i still think Ceballos is not first team material for Arsenal. COYG!

  • @alxdru 1-3 and card for Lemina

  • why can not choose Lacazette

  • @jayvin83 He is available and very committed to the team, but Nketiah has been more involved during pre-season (Laca had to take quarantine) and should start first matches at least. Lacazette offers competition of course, but if possible, Arsenal will look to sell him during this window to raise funds for Partey from Atletico.

  • 1-2 or 0-1

  • Arsenal gonna have a tough time without the goats Lord Mustafi and David Luiz...Aubameyang should carry them to a 2-0 win
