Team News

  • Frank Lampard is hoping to have Christian Pulisic available for selection against Tottenham with the American close to a return following a thigh problem.
  • However, Pulisic is Chelsea's only absentee coming into Sunday's London Derby.
  • Lampard may consider just one change from last weekend's 2-0 win at Newcastle, with Thiago Silva potentially coming in for Antonio Rudiger at the heart of the defence.
  • Toby Alderweireld's groin injury he sustained in the 2-0 win over Manchester City isn't as bad as initially feared, with the Belgian already undergoing gym work, but he will miss the trip to Stamford Bridge.
  • Jose Mourinho must decide who replaces Alderweireld alongside Eric Dier in defence, with it looking increasingly likely that Joe Rodon will make his full debut for the north London side after Davinson Sanchez played the full 90 in the Europa League in midweek.
  • Argentine pair Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso are doubts, with the latter missing the 4-0 win over Ludogorets having picked up a knock in training.

  • Chelsea come into Sunday's welcome of Tottenham just two points behind the Premier League leaders and have won their last six matches in all competitions, conceding just twice in that run. The Blues have lost only one of their last 26 home meetings with Tottenham, a record they'll hope to extend as they look to potentially move top of the league.
  • Spurs may have a lacklustre record at Stamford Bridge, but come into Sunday's mouth watering tie on a five-match winning run. Jose Mourinho's side are one of three teams to boast a 100% away record in the Premier League this season, though in turn have had two fewer days' rest after their Europa League meeting with Ludogorets on Thursday night.
  • Mourinho may have played his fringe players in midweek, but his record at Stamford Bridge as an opposing manager is poor, winning only one of seven trips to west London, that coming back in 2010. Sunday's clash is set to be a hotly contested affair, and one that Chelsea may edge given their good form, additional rest and fine home record against Spurs.

  • Mourinho came for the draw and he got it without breaking a sweat. #LampardOut

  • @splint3r u are an absurd, and u are not a Chelsea fan..

  • @splint3r WTF another reactionary fan. Let's ignore the fact the our setup prevented Son and Kane from having a sniff. Yes Lampard could've done better with his subs but overall he did well. He cannot kick the ball for Tammy Abraham, Ziyech, Werner, etc

  • @tboyjojo You know what he can do, though? He can stop playing English players just because they are English. The only English player who deserves to be in the starting line-up is Chilwell. Tammy is completely useless, I don't even want to comment on him. If it wasn't for Thiago Silva and Mendy, Lampard would be long gone, since we would be losing all the big games. These two have been saving his behind. Lampard is a completely clueless coach not suited for a big club and the fact that he is a legendary player does not matter right now. He must go as soon as possible.

  • @splint3r Mount deserves a place in the starting XI week in week out. Abraham should be rotated more. The way Spurs set up meant this was a game for Giroud.

  • @ARJTC Every big game is a game for Giroud. But tell that to Lampard.

  • Possibly a fixed 0-0 match. Both teams wouldn't have minded a draw, 0-0 draw was about 14-1, 1-1 draw was about 7-1. Abraham should've scored 2 or 3, but completely messed all 3 chances up which was very out of character, almost as if he didn't want to score. Spurs had 1 shot on target.

  • @Geolardo Yet Spurs could have won...It's not about how many shots you make, it's about how much shots you need to put the ball in the back of the net and Tottenham doesn't need many to score. Could have scored in the beginning and in the last seconds and there were some very very dangerous balls that almost isolated a player in front of goal, so don't fall for the number of shots trap.

  • @Geolardo Spurs had 2 shots on target in their 2-0 win over ManCity.

  • @Geolardo Actually, it was very IN character for him.

  • @Geolardo Giroud and Lo Celso at the end of the game did the same and that Abraham chance when he just falls to the ground like he tried not to touch the ball was like bad acting : )

  • Say what you will about Liverpool, they're way more entertaining to watch than this Tottenham

  • @levn i watched a few Liverpool games, i liked the Villa game....very entertaining

  • @levn Why would anybody expect a team managed by Mourinho to be entertaining to watch ? It is about results only ...

  • Bale an unused substitute in a 0-0 draw. God I can't wait for Mourinho to get sacked again

  • BOOOOOORING Typical Mourinho bus again, Chelsea overrated too

  • Damn what an ugly game I've just watched.

  • I am still not convinced about Werner in the EPL.

  • @Rensen Well he is fast and score if he has enough space. In all other areas he is mediocre at best. His technical skills are below average.

  • It's not pleasant to watch Chelsea games. For the amount of money they have spent they play boring, uninspiring football.

  • Werner has been weak lately

  • Speaks volumes about EPL quality right now that those 2 play for #1

  • @alx30 To be fair the other leagues suck too atm

  • Fell asleep watching the game.

  • just another 'Big Game' in 'Biggest League in the world'. LMAO what a snoozefest..

  • Ndombele best, where does France find so many good players.

  • Bad disallowed the goal of Chelsea, to me was not offside as Werner was at the same line of the last man when he recibes the pass.

  • @dib No no it was a cleeeear offside, it was Mount's fault for sticking the ball too much to his feet and when he finally passed it to werner it was too late, offside. while Ziyech before that was clear and a pass to him would have lead to goal when the option was easy and allowed.

  • Over 2.5

  • Chelsea have had two days extra rest and Tottenham have a poor record at Chelsea so Chelsea are obviously favourites. They will see it as two points dropped if this match ends in a draw. However, with Son, Kane, Reguilón, and Ndombele all fit and playing well, Tottenham will feel hopeful. It's a shame that Toby is absent from defence as it might cost them at least one goal. Probably Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham or Chelsea 1-1 Tottenham.

  • red card for Spurs, Reguilón maybe

  • What's up with Kai Hawertz? According to whoscored Pulisic is the only injury concern, yet I have not seen Kai Hawertz for ages! Did he get into an argument with Lampard???

  • 2-1 if Chelsea defend better

  • Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham

  • 2-2

  • 2-2

  • 2-1. Chelsea victory

  • 2-2

  • @Rensen score line?

  • @Gautam49 yes 2-2

  • @Rensen very possible

  • Premier League championship level team Chelsea. Premier League 4th level team Tottenham In a draw, Tottenham wins 38 matches. Chelsea 2-3 Tottenham Tottenham will be the 2020-2021 Premier League Champion.

  • @Iseethebest what u smoking man?

  • @Dark51 I think He is drugged

  • 3-1 Chelsea win

  • CHE 3:1 TOT. Werner back in scoresheet.

  • 3-1 Spurs light work

  • @FF2021 LOL

  • 3-3
