Team News
Man Utd
Newcastle
- Eric Bailly returned to first-team action on Thursday night but Paul Pogba won't return until next month.
- Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani are out with muscle injuries after both missing the trip to Italy.
- David de Gea looks set to keep the gloves for now after a strong performance against West Brom last weekend.
- Scott McTominay was a doubt heading into Thursday's game and was withdrawn after 60 minutes so is back to being an injury concern.
- Van de Beek would hope to replace McTominay, albeit carrying out his position differently, but as he is also a doubt then Nemanja Matic may get a rare start.
- Amad Diallo made his highly anticipated debut against Real Sociedad but is unlikely to feature here. He has a good chance of making a full debut in the return leg on Thursday.
- Jamaal Lascelles returned from injury in Newcastle's predictable 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last time out.
- Newcastle are boosted by Jeff Hendrick's return from suspension this weekend.
- Federico Fernández is back in training but Sunday will come too soon. He should return for their next match.
- But Steve Bruce's side remain without star striker Callum Wilson and now face being sucked back into the relegation fight.
- Ryan Fraser, Sean Longstaff, Dwight Gayle and Joelinton are pushing for starts on Sunday.
