Team News
Liverpool
Brighton
- Joel Matip has incredibly been ruled out for the remainder of the season to join Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez as long-term absentees. Fabinho is also ruled out here.
- Liverpool bolstered their centre-back options with the double deadline day arrival of Ozan Kabak from Schalke and Ben Davies from Preston but Jurgen Klopp may resist debuts here despite their current woes at the back.
- Diogo Jota is back in training but unlikely to return just yet, with Sadio Mane also absent. Klopp may persist in a diamond formation here.
- James Milner suffered a tight hamstring in the 3-1 win away to West Ham on Sunday after playing three games in a week and may not start here.
- Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will push for starts here.
- Graham Potter may reward the side that defeated Tottenham on Sunday with another go here.
- Jose Izquierdo was back on the bench at the weekend after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
- Both Alexis Mac Allister and Joel Veltman picked up minor muscle injuries against Tottenham but will be given the chance to prove their fitness for this one.
- Adam Lallana will be desperate to start at former home Anfield and could replace Mac Allister in the XI.
- Brighton finally signed sought-after 19-year-old midfielder Moises Caicedo on deadline day but no immediate debut is expected.
Oof
It has got to a point when it's not even funny anymore. :D
Defensive mistakes led to goal again and no quality in attack. Only Henderson and Thiago showed up. Hard to really blame them with that ridiculous injury list and lack of depth, but still sad to watch it fall apart
@benj this is what made Liverpool so good....no team in Europe (maybe Atalanta) played the same 11
Will Thiago ever get a yellow, filthy guy
i guess not the defenders was the problem :)
@alxdru Goal was actually a mistake by Phillips, but they needed Mane and Jota way more badly here
11 shots, 1 on target. Says it all.
Liverpool back to how they should be
POO ! POO ! POO
1 shot on target wow
@deo90000 At Anfield. Against Brighton. There goes the title race
@benj The title race went bye-bye long ago.
I've never seen Salah so useless
I never thought Liverpool could be so bad.
Brighton=underrated
is mane injured?
I have a bad feeling about this.
@rosays I don't, to be fair Brighton also have injuries. The only thing I know is that liverpool will win but with slim chance, maybe 1-0 or 2-1
@Seekier oof
3-1
Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip will miss the rest of the season with an ankle ligament injury.
