Team News
Chelsea
Newcastle
- Thiago Silva is working his way back from a hamstring injury but is unlikely to be available until they face Southampton.
- Thomas Tuchel rotated his squad for Thursday's 1-0 win over Barnsley in the FA Cup but there was no space in the squad for Kai Havertz and he remains injured.
- A dead leg kept Timo Werner out in midweek but he is expected to return against Newcastle.
- Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell have shared the role as Chelsea's left-back under Tuchel but as the former featured on Thursday then it seem logical Chilwell plays here.
- N'Golo Kante made his first start under Tuchel on Thursday but perhaps isn't ready to start successive matches.
- Jeff Hendrick is suspended for Newcastle after his red card against Southampton last weekend.
- Fabian Schar sustained a knee injury against Southampton that will keep him out for several months.
- Callum Wilson came off against Southampton with a hamstring injury and will reportedly be out for up to eight weeks in a hammer blow for the away side.
- Javier Manquillo is also out for a long time after doing his ankle ligaments. After letting DeAndre Yedlin leave in January, Newcastle are short at right-back.
- Ciaran Clark missed the win over Southampton to attend the birth of his child but should return here in a timely boost given Newcastle's defensive absentees.
- Isaac Hayden will likely be required at centre-back again, though Paul Dummett returned from injury last weekend and is an option, albeit not a natural choice.
- Sean Longstaff hasn't featured in more than a month but could be required here if available. The same is true of his brother, Matty.
Can anyone tell me how to predict the correct score precisely?i will appreciated it:)
@dinosauregg time travel
Kovacic is playing 10 times better under Tuchel. He gave him absolute freedom, and Kovacic is using it well.
Tuchel really seems to have a problem with Ziyech.
@MrNemobody He is too offensive minded. He wants more stability in the team.
Why bench Mendy? He has been great for Chelsea
@alx30 dont wanna waste the 80m lol
Good results so far but i think that tough opponents like city /leicester /liverpool will expose how mediocre this team is.
@Youzarix looserpool?? lmao
@falcon_ranger Yeah, even liverpool will beat them.
Lascelles has a "T" - last man tackle symbol, for tackling Abraham . . Anyone else think it should have been Red Card + Penalty?
hope our boy Ziyech leaves this team in summer or smthn, would love to see him in Juve assisting Ronaldo, or else his talent will be buried here, they gonna take from us the joy of watching his magic.
@TetouanMorocco bro he's shit he need to go back to ajax asap
@JotaroDio Also he proved himself against Bayern, Real, Juve, Tottenham, Chelsea and Valencia, and dominated Eredivise, but yeah lets just call him s..t cz i feel so haha anyway cheers, we're just killing time
@JotaroDio ik you are just being idiotic or childish, it looks useless answering u, but ok if u watched ziyech in the beginning of season u'd know he isn't, 5games 3motm 3assists 1goal, then unfortunately he had an injury and directly after coming back he played 90min against city and he had no rest next games even without being fit ofc ull lose ur form no matter who u r ull know this if u play football, as a smart coach u must win again a player with quality like Ziyech on ur squad cz he can make big difference and rely on him in time of need, rest him and play him lil by lil, not just bench him forever
Chelsea will win this. They are coached by two guys.
Soo, Ziyech, Zouma, Kante, Pulicic, Chillwel are permanent benchwarmers under Tuchel now haha? What kinda team leaves these kinda players on the bench? , its like going to barca and bench Messi Greizman Pique Alba and DeJong lmao soo unrealistic its like he's saying hey look am different xD, and now he benched Mendy too, idk it looks 1-2 or 1-3 just look at that defense xD, also Tuchel lucky he faced easy teams so far.
@TetouanMorocco must be hard following chelsea ONLY because of Ziyech. He has been shit for months now, and if he was good enough he would be playing. Stop bitching about it on every chelsea thread
@TetouanMorocco as long as he wins :)
@Nataku u r right ofc, but Lampard would have won these games too, he crashed the easy teams but suffered vs big teams this was his problems, so far Tuchel just won by 1-0 penalty or 0-0, and with such lineups imo Tuchel wont have a chance against the likes of City Utd Leicester and so. anyway this is just an opinion.
@TetouanMorocco Tuchel took chelsea from 9th to 4th place, it doesnt matter how, but he did
@TetouanMorocco I hear you G, but it's current form. The players ahead of them are playing better. Ziyech, Zouma, Kante all lost their place due to injury. Pulisic and Chilwell lost their place purely on form. Just watch the games and it isn't that difficult to understand. He's taken over a team with the attack struggling all season, mid-season. Did you expect him to win all the games 4-0 right away? Also, Chelsea have been dominant in all games with almost 70% of the ball since Tuchel arrived. Just watch the games and it won't be so difficult to understand.
1-1
Werner starts the game.Chelsea playing a very attacking side.
2:1 or 3:1
3-0
Werner to score first goal ft 2:0 for Chelsea
้HT Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle ้FT Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle
Chelsea - Newcastle 1:1(1:0)
Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
