Team News
Man City
Southampton
- Pep Guardiola will make changes from the side that slipped to a surprise 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester United on Sunday.
- Kevin De Bruyne is taking his time to rediscover his best form after recovering from injury and largely struggled in the derby. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him benched here.
- Phil Foden, Aymeric Laporte, Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva will almost certainly return to the starting XI against Southampton. Fernandinho is also an option here.
- Sergio Aguero didn't make it off the bench against United but should feature in some capacity on Wednesday.
- Southampton recovered Takumi Minamino, Ibrahima Diallo and Kyle Walker-Peters from injury at the weekend in a massive boost for the club.
- Unfortunately for Southampton, Danny Ings may not play again this month after suffering a muscle injury in his leg against Sheffield United.
- Fraser Forster appears set for a run in the first-team after a series of sub-par displays from Alex McCarthy of late.
- Nathan Tella deserves to keep his place in the side after a bright display against Sheffield United.
This looks more like flush and flurry. Every shot a hit.
why mahrez out? Pep is afraid mahrez can score more than two goals!
@Dalia ppl like Dalia are just a 14 yrs old kids who have nothing to do with football they have never watched it and they don't care for it they only know FC Mahrez. as an Algerian, i want to watch mahrez play especially in this great form, but I was happy he got sub out because that means pep is resetting him for fulham.
@coliotte thanks alot. this is what i mean. we all love Mahrez regardless our nationality. But that should not affect his image by showing him as a victime. Bein sport channel commentators and some arab guys do not stop this bad story. Mahrez is a super star player also Pepe is a super star coach. So keep loving football and especially EPL. vive l' Algerie.
@Dalia hahaha. please stop this story. pepe hate Mahrez. city players do not give the ball to Mahrez. KDB ignore Mahrez. Even arab commentators repete that everywhere. Stop crying in arab, french and English sites. The truth is All players in City team and Pepe himself respect Mahrez and love him and this is why he took him out for next matchs. Thank you neumi17 for your ironic answer . We're feeling bad when we read and hear that in every city game since 3 years
@Dalia yes of course
@Dalia Yeah, that is the only reason. Damn Pep, always so scared of Mahrez scoring ...
