Team News

AZ Alkmaar
Napoli
  • Albert Gudmundsson and Jonas Svensson are one booking away from a one-match ban in the Europa League.
  • Jordy Clasie hasn't been involved since testing positive for COVID-19 in October, while Ron Vlaar and Jeremy Helmer are also expected to miss out here.
  • Myron Boadu and Albert Gudmundsson are battling for places in the starting XI for the home side.
  • Top of Group F but still with work to do to qualify, Napoli can't take their foot off the gas just yet.
  • Andrea Petagna hasn't scored in four Europa League appearances this season and could really do with breaking that run sooner rather than later.
  • Tiemoue Bakayoko missed the 4-0 win over Roma at the weekend through suspension but should rotate into the side here.
  • Napoli's last Europa League match saw Faouzi Ghoulam pick up the WhoScored Man of the Match award on his first start of the season. He will hope to be rewarded with another shot here.

Prediction

  • Two points split AZ Alkmaar, Real Sociedad and Napoli in Group F, with the latter currently clear at the top of the table. AZ have already beaten Napoli in the group this season and that was when an outbreak of COVID-19 went through a huge portion of their squad.
  • Napoli have won all three Europa League games since losing on GW1 to AZ Alkmaar and ran out 4-0 winners over Serie A rivals Roma at the weekend in memory of the late Diego Maradona. They are favourites to win on Thursday and qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
