- Shaun Maloney made four changes after Hibs suffered a stalemate with the Steelmen as they drew 0-0 away to Motherwell last midweek, before their 3-2 home defeat to Livingston on Saturday afternoon.
- Ryan Porteous returned from suspension, joining Paul McGinn and Lewis Stevenson in the back three. Club captain Paul Hanlon is out injured. The incoming Ewan Henderson replaced Joe Newell in the Hibees' midfield.
- Former Hearts loanee Demetri Mitchell made his first start and scored his first Hibs goal in the defeat to Livingston. Meanwhile Christian Doidge came in to partner Kevin Nisbet up front. Josh Doig, Rocky Bushiri, Joe Newell and Chris Mueller all dropped onto the bench.
- Robbie Neilson made six changes to the Hearts team that fell to a 2-1 defeat to Celtic at Tynecastle last Wednesday night, before they responded with a 2-0 victory over Motherwell at Tynecastle at the weekend.
- There were a few enforced changes in defence, as Taylor Moore came in for Craig Halkett in the back three. Nathaniel Atkinson and Andy Halliday replaced the injured Michael Smith and Alex Cochrane who dropped onto the bench.
- Beni Baningime replaced Peter Haring, joining Cammy Devlin in midfield. Gary Mackay-Steven supported Liam Boyce and Ellis Simms, who made his first Hearts start and scored his first Hearts goal, as Barrie McKay and Josh Ginnelly made way.
