Newcastle
Tottenham
- Paul Dummett is absent through injury, but Joe Willock, Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Martin Dubravka and Freddie Woodman will be assessed with the quintet hoping to make the squad.
- Miguel Almiron will play for Paraguay late on Thursday night and is set to sit out the welcome of Tottenham.
- The home support should be in buoyant mood after Mike Ashley sold the club during the international break.
- Davinson Sanchez, Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal all represented their respective nations in the early hours of Friday morning and will be assessed upon their return to England.
- Joe Rodon should deputise at centre-back for Tottenham, while Japhet Tanganga can be expected to feature at right-back, especially with Matt Doherty sidelined.
- Ryan Sessegnon missed the trip to Newcastle, but Ben Davies is hoping to overcome illness to play some part.
- Steven Bergwijn is back in training and could be involved on Sunday.
- Two unnamed Tottenham players tested positive for COVID-19 late last week, with Bryan Gil and Son Heung-Min the rumoured pair. The latter, though, is believed to have since returned two negative tests, so could start here.
Close score but Spurs were good odds to win.
Harry Kane should not take free kicks for Tottenham.
Jonjo Shelvey sent off at St James' Park against Tottenham again (see also 2017)
Kane scored and here the match appeared "suspended" due to a medical emergency in the attendance. It's weird
@dib someone in the crowd need medical attention.
@MEHJones Thanks. Match's just reassumed and Son socred. Weird situation though.
@dib *not very far away
@dib definitely unusual. Apparently the person is now stable and the hospital is not very away at all.
Worrying scenes. Reminds me of when Fabrice Muamba collapsed at White Heart Lane in 2012.
@MEHJones I was in the ground at the time. The went deathly silent when the medical team ran on. Sam Ricketts was standing on the wing in front of the east stand. I remember seeing the blood drain from his face as he realised how serious it was. He had to sit down on the pitch because his legs went. It was awful. When the medics started chest compressions the crowd all started cheering come on and chanting Muamba. Several people were in tears. Muamba was eventually stretchered off to an ambulance. The match did not restart. The crowd left in near silence. Thankfully Fabrice Muamba survived but he did have to retire.
Game is suspended as paramedics rush to the crowd.
Kane scores ! :)
Son, Romero, Lloris, Højbjerg, and Kane all start. Newcastle 1-2 Tottenham
I have backed Spurs to win @ 2.20 odds.Kane and Son are due a good game and i think they will be too strong for Newcastle who are fighting a relegation battle.
Spurs to win.Newcastle are in shocking form this season. The arab consortium will be hoping they do not get relegated.
BBC: "Two unnamed Tottenham players have tested positive for Covid-19 having trained on Thursday and will both have to isolate for 10 days."
Good luck to Bruce on his last game as Manager…
X2
No matter what i cannot see Newcastle taking points here. Although Tottenham is awful all 3 points going to Spurs!
Some bookies have taken bets of £10,000 + on Frank Lampard becoming newcastle manager.
Kane in shocking form ! He does not seem to be interested anymore since Spurs blocked his move to Man City.
Their new money won’t every buy them class - 2-2
Newcastle - Tottenham 2:1(1:0)
MBS hattrick incoming
Both to score.
