Arsenal
Aston Villa
- Granit Xhaka remains Arsenal's only confirmed absentee for the welcome of Aston Villa.
- Bukayo Saka is a major doubt for Arsenal after coming off against Crystal Palace following a heavy challenge.
- Kieran Tierney also needs assessing after finishing Monday's match with a problem. Nuno Tavares is on standby for the home side.
- Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette are on standby to replace Saka if the England international fails to recover from injury in time.
- Albert Sambi Lokonga is an option if Arteta feels he needs a more defensive-minded midfielder in alongside Thomas Partey, though both committed errors leading to goals against Palace.
- Emi Martinez and Douglas Luiz were both passed fit to start less than 24 hours after landing in the UK from South America, highlighting their importance to Dean Smith.
- Morgan Sanson was fit enough for the bench and will hope to make a long awaited return to Premier League action before long.
- Leon Bailey has been passed fit by Dean Smith but will more than likely only make the bench on Friday night. Matty Cash has recovered from a dead leg for the away side.
- While Villa threw away a two-goal lead last weekend they were value for that lead before making changes so an unchanged lineup is still a distinct possibility despite a gut-wrenching defeat.
Arsenal is by far the worst team in the PL when it comes to dribbles. They only average 6 per game which ranks 20th in the league. Only three players average 1 dribble per game, none more than 1.
The ref ha been harsh on Lacazette, VAR should have allowed that Aubameyang goal.
@Geolardo Lacazette was having his shirt pulled as well so it could have been a penalty, maybe that's why he gave the VAR penalty
1-0
2-2 Aubameyang and Ings to score.
Puppetmaster hi
Tough game for Arsenal. 1-1
2-1
Hopefully Arsenal victory and cleansheet
Villa to win 2 - 1
Draw . Mark my word. Both teams will be satisfied with 1 point. Arsenal is still young team but starting 11 start to crystalize and deliver good games and cl.sheets. Ramsdeale is Top cat. Villa is hot7cold ..but have good scalps in term of man utd & everton. Draw
