Team News

Aston Villa
  • Tyler Roberts suffered a hamstring strain shortly after coming off the bench against Leicester on Saturday and will miss the remainder of the season.
  • Patrick Bamford was deemed fit enough for the bench at the weekend and Jesse Marsch has confirmed he will feature here, but only as a substitute.
  • Diego Llorente didn't make the Leicester match due to injury but along with Adam Forshaw he should be available.
  • Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are closing in on a return to the matchday squad, with the latter back in training and the former more likely to be back following the international break.
  • Lucas Digne and Ezri Konsa both missed out against Southampton after testing positive for COVID. They are back available but may have to settle for a place on the bench here after Aston Villa ran out 4-0 winners over Southampton in their absence.
  • Bertrand Traore was back on the bench for Villa at the weekend to bolster Steven Gerrard's attacking options but he won't be considered for a start here.
  • In fact, Gerrard has no reason to make any changes after such a good performance at the weekend, with Emi Buendia and Leon Bailey again having to make do with a place on the bench.

  • Leeds showed immediate improvements in Jesse Marsch's first game in charge. They had 19 shots to Leicester's seven but ended up losing 1-0 - their fifth straight defeat in the Premier League.
  • Aston Villa pulled off a shock 4-0 win at home to an in-form Southampton, with Philippe Coutinho running the show. Villa are now looking to win three games in a row for the first time this season.
