Team News
Leicester
Liverpool
- Daniel Amartey and Hamza Choudhury returned from COVID-19 to start in Leicester's heavy Boxing Day defeat to Manchester City.
- Ricardo Pereira is out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury, while Ryan Bertrand picked up an injury in the warm-up on Boxing Day. Patson Daka is out for three weeks.
- Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi didn't even make it off the bench against City but will surely come back into the side here given the sharp turnaround.
- Kelechi Iheanacho should keep his place in the side after playing a direct hand in all three of Leicester's goals against City.
- Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones returned to training on Christmas Day after recovering from COVID-19. Thiago is also COVID free.
- Andrew Robertson is suspended so Konstantinos Tsimikas will now get a run at left-back for the away side.
- Liverpool's game with Leeds on Boxing Day was postponed so Jurgen Klopp's side should be relatively fresh heading into matches against Leicester and Chelsea.
Guys, you didn't have to but Pep really appreciates the gift.
@GioMonaldo pleasure
Normal service has been resumed.
1. City 2. Chelsea 3. Liverpool
Liverpool front 3 is totally out of form. Team B did much better against Leicester last time. I have no clue why Klopp bought Minamino - he used to be an awesome creative midfielder in Salzburg but now he only struggles with this workmanlike defensive midfield of Liverpool. Liverpool badly needs somebody fresh on the midfield because Chambarlain and Henderson are a joke too. Essentially 5 players are not present mentally today in Liverpool: Mane, Salah, Jota, Chamberlain, Henderson. But Tsimiskas and Arnold are also playing very timidly: zero courage going forward from their side. So that adds up to 7 players taking off the day today. Leicester only adds to the spectators' misery by not noticing that today they could beat Liverpool easily. But hey, that would be the job of Brendan Rogers! What the hell is he doing on the sidelines??? Only he knows. Klopp will probably start fleshing his freshly reconstructed dentures as usual when his team is not present in a game and he is clueless.
