Team News

Man City
  • Arsenal's midweek game with Wolves was postponed and preperations for this game was complicated by manager Mikel Arteta testing positive for COVID-19 this week.
  • Ben White may have to play at right-back once again after Cedric Soares and Takehiro Tomiyasu recently tested positive for COVID-19. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Calum Chambers also returned positive tests.
  • Arteta has a big decision to make between Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing on Saturday. Smith Rowe has dropped out of the side of late but has scored off the bench in three straight appearances.
  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already left for AFCON and may have already played his final game for the club.
  • Fernandinho has played the full 90 twice in three days already this week and is unlikely to be able to start here.
  • Rodri hasn't been deemed fully fit for Manchester City's last two outings but Pep Guardiola will be desperate to have him back here.
  • Joao Cancelo has travelled with the squad despite being assaulted by four burglars in midweek. Kyle Walker was back in training in midweek after missing City's last six.
  • Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez were all unused substitutes on Wednesday night and should all start here. The latter leaves for AFCON after this game.
  • Phil Foden and Jack Grealish started against Brentford after being dropped for a few games due to a lack of discipline off the pitch. The latter will drop out of the side here and Foden may even join him.

  • Arsenal have had a full week to prepare for this game but Mikel Arteta testing positive in midweek has certainly been far from ideal for the Gunners. Arsenal have won five in a row heading into Saturday's game and are certainly better placed compared to the reverse meeting back in August when they lost 5-0.
  • Manchester City made the most of Liverpool's defeat to Leicester and Chelsea's draw with Brighton to pull further clear at the top of the table ahead of what could already be a defining weekend in the title race. City are already eight points clear and could be as many as 11 by the time Chelsea face Liverpool later in the weekend.
  • City have won 10 in a row in the Premier League and are unbeaten away from home in the competition since the opening weekend of the season back in August. Arsenal haven't even scored in each of their last four home meetings with City but have looked good going forward of late so should at least end that run here.

  • Luckiest win ever

  • no stonewall penalty for Arsenal in 9 minute

  • Rodri rating for the first 92 minjtes: 6.7, good enough for 7th best in this match. Then, he scores a tap in and suddenly his performance is worthy of man of the match. Lol

  • @Chilly_B Yeah its called winning the match lol

  • @mamix1 he didn't deserve man of the match because of one touch lol don't let your emotions deceive you

  • @Chilly_B You mentioning about emotions. Irony...

  • The ref need a further education. What a stupid #@$$@##@@

  • @draelis what kind of education? like are we talking high school or university? or a specific area like astrophysics, exobiology etc?

  • Start shining the trophy, City are coming for it!

  • @GioMonaldo Hold your horses.

  • Well deserved LOL

  • What a sour game for Arsenal. I feel bad for them, fighting so hard with 10 men only to get sunked on overtime. Also the ref felt kind of "pro-city" for large parts of the game.

  • city really lucky to win this one. anyone who watch the game would notice arsenal played better this game

  • @Matjan True, Arsenal were unlucky with the VAR decisions, and a silly second yellow by Gabriel

  • City are playing a 3-2-2-3 formation: Ederson; Ake, Laporte, Dias; Rodri, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Silva; Sterling, Jesus, Mahrez

  • city is so boring

  • @NuchalLine Chelsea are worse.

  • @lillie No.

  • @lillie champions league

  • Ake out

  • @Mdy he played very well.

  • City win + 0.75

  • Arsenal are 0-11 vs the top 3 this season, Man City -1 @2.19

  • @Gravesen16 bravo you don't see Arsenal games right? @last two month

  • @draelis Well I didn't lose the bet, look's like someone is salty.

  • Cancelo - assaulted by burglars..... wtf?

  • Over 2.5 goals match goals both 2 very attacking sides.

  • 0-4

  • 1-2

  • Arsenal have a genuine chance of nicking at least a point here.

  • Walker will play I think

  • 2-2 Laporte +Zinchenko in defence

  • Arsenal has a very busy schedule at the start of the new year. The first five fixtures include a visit by Man City; two-leg fixtures against Liverpool in the EFL Cup; and a Conte's Tottenham. On paper, the "easy" fixture is against a championship team - Nott. Forest. With sloppy results against the big boys, priority will come in handy if the Gunners are to get something from those matches. I watched City's game against Brentford, and I must admit that they were "training" in that match. There were no much threats, running, etc. Even if City play the same squad here, they'd still win. Now, think about a possible return of the rested/fresh players here: the likes of Rodri, Stones, Walker, Gundogan, Sterling, and Mahrez. That, combined with the fact that Arsenal will be without Arteta. I have a feeling we will see another record being broken by City here. Don't ask which, LOL. City to keep clean sheet. **0-4/0-6 FT here.

  • @Heseinburg you full of crap

  • @Heseinburg City win, at least with 2 goal margin. But I think Pep's priority are 3pts and injury free squad. If you live next door, I'll never hesitate to take your money for 0-4/0-6 FT. :-)

  • Hopefully we can ask some questions of City
