Newcastle
Liverpool
- Chris Wood was benched for the 3-0 win over Norwich, with Joelinton leading the charge. After scoring twice, the Brazilian could continue in attack
- Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier are all absent, but could play some part before the season ends.
- Eddie Howe may make one change to the side, with Jonjo Shelvey potentially replacing Sean Longstaff in midfield.
- Jurgen Klopp will be forced to change things around given the sharp turnaround from Wednesday's match with Villarreal in the Champions League.
- The Liverpool manager was able to take off the likes of Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold with time to spare in midweek so they should be fine to start this one.
- Naby Keita, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and James Milner therefore all have decent chances of starting away to Newcastle on Saturday.
- Roberto Firmino remains the only injury concern for Liverpool after missing out in midweek through injury.
- Curtis Joens and Kostas Tsimikas missed the win over Villarreal through illness and remain doubts this weekend.
Milner time has gone, that is very much obvious in this season, but for this match he might be Ok, not for the next season though.
@dzvinka Complete rubbish. He was our best player. Check the highlights again. Fastest to react to lost ball and regain possession. Clever and accurate passes. Don't know what game you were watching. He's never been fast, ever. However his experience, versatility and leadership are vital.
Very strange call to put Gomez as a CB since he's TAA's backup and more importantly, Konaté would be a better option unless he's injured or fatigued. The latter seems far-fetched after just 4 games this entire month and it's more prudent to give the Ibrahima more playing time to get more acclimated as a potential starter in the future, especially after delivering a very exciting and promising start to his Liverpool career. Newcastle should not be taken lightly and a win not for granted.
Liverpool’s 9th match in April, insanity
@sarigginsUSA It's intentional (all over the world) to kill your bets and make games as unpredictable as possible!
@Zoltan that's very true, sometimes i think that a typical loss from any europe club has been planned and well the actors are the players. I am not really certain that it is purely this but maybe it is, who knows.
Under 3.5 goals @1.44
2 very attacking sides should produce over 2.5 goals.I cannot see Liverpool resting players despite their CL 2nd leg next tuesday at Villareal.
