Switzerland deserved to win, but for me their first goal should have been disallowed: Seferovic pushes Lenglet on the back. It's really surprising how no France player complained about that.
@moo13 Vladimir also lived in Vrelo Bosne outside of Sarajevo. One of the prettiest places ever. A Roman Bridge is located not far from Vrelo Bosne on the Bosna river in the Ilidža municipality, which was built sometime between 1530 and 1550 from the original Roman stones and ruins of the bridge that stood there during the Roman period used to connect the Romans with the village of Aquae Sulphurae at the time. Lots of history!
@moo13 Oh I'm aware, I have relatives from Sarajevo who used to watch Petkovic while he played for FK Sarajevo back in the 80s. It's just that nobody I know calls him Croat. My dad worked with him and Vladimir went by Yugoslav/Bosnian label but whatever rally, Balkan has had enough divisions. Seferovic is a Bosniak/Bosnian-Muslims with passport from Swiss but we all still call him just Bosnian.
Every great player misses a decisive penalty in some major tournament in their careers, and I never like seeing the best kick fifth. We can all be happy about the exciting games though, 14 goals in 2 games is not what anybody can call a boring sport.
No teams from the group of death in last 8 LOL, now i understand why CR scored so many goals (penalty party), every team were disorganized, unconcentrated, and out of form. Finally Belgium played with some organization.
That was the first time Switzerland won the penalty shootout. One of these they lost 0-3 against Ukraine in 2006 WC, were the first team not to score a single goal in the shootout. Today is really the special day.
My Thoughts;
not starting Coman=???
Kempembe/Lenglet/Varane errors let France down. The third goal shouldn't have happened and the first goal was soft
Winner of Italy/Belgium is winning this tournament
Mbappe needs to learn from this, France should've won this tournament easily but they didnt take this tournament seriously
Sissoko LMAOOO Deschamps
Brilliant effort from Switzerland
@LeChiffre Croatia has more talented players here and there, but as a team they're not able to put on a high pressing, masterlcass defensive display like Austria did against Italy. Austrians used their tactical abilities and athleticism to disrupt Italy's flow. Spain struggled against low block sides (Sweden, Poland) like every other team in the tournament (France and Germany struggled against Hungary, and even Portugal managed to score only in the 84th minute). Plus, Spain defence in general leaves a lot to be desired. It's Luis Enrique after all.
As soon as I saw the 5th penalty taker for France, I knew it was over. Summs up Mbappé's tournament.
He is a fine talent, but he really needs to get down to Earth if he wants to achieve greater things in football. As things stand, he looks more and more like Balotelli. Got to fame too young, and never realised his real potential. Mbappé has the talent to become the greatest, but he needs to work for it. At the moment, he looks like he thinks he is one of the greatest, but not much to show for it, especially this tournament.
Also kudos to the swiss, they fought brilliantly, and deserved to go through.
@DanInter I think he's that type of footballer who peaks too young and can't find another notch with maturity. I think Haarland is going to be the same.
@tinyclaw
I really liked Mbappé playing in Monaco. Ever since he moved to Paris and won the World Cup, he didn't really develop, only his ego. I don't think he can advance in his carrier if he stays at PSG, especially with the likes of Neymar, who are also famous for being cocky and not much to show for it. (not gonna count the Barca titles, because that Barca team was very strong at the time with Xavi and Iniesta, and Messi in prime.)
Haarland is playing at Dortmund atm, which in my opinion is a much better team for him considering where he is in his carrier. Will be interesting to see, where he goes next, hopefully he chooses more wisely, not just based on money like Mbappé did.
@tinyclaw I dunno, both derive their strengths from their natural physical attributes and that will not decline for some years. They can drop the intensity and focus a bit for all the wrong reasons like so often happens to young stars but still be good enough to deliver many goals and earn their spot just by showing up to training. The problems will be in their 30s when their success will depend on having Ronaldo's sort of discipline.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! And this kid is supposed to be the next Messi/Ronaldo. He couldn't even score 1 goal this tournament and just knocked France out the tournament.
Someone heavily biased against Italy and with zero football culture claimed that the teams they had beaten were below zero.
Today, despite the penalty failed by Rodriguez, France is 3-3. This very bad Swiss team doesn't look like such a catastrophe...
@whoanalyzed Italy played all its group games at home against weaker teams. They had trouble against Austria in the first game they had to travel for . I can't see Italy beating Belgium or Spain. France' loss comes down to tactics by Deschamps and a poor performance by Mbappe this Euro. That's it.
@LeChiffre Weaker team like Switzerland who just won against France? you made a lot of excuses but do France really need to play at home to beat Switzerland? Italy had a bad 30 minutes against Austria and that's still less than most other big teams accumulated so far. Did you see England at Wembley against Scotland? Did you see Germany at Allianz against Hungary? Spain probably need to worry about Switzerland first before thinking about Belgium or Italy.
@whoanalyzed Players are usually significantly more commited in international tournaments and it's not uncommon to see mighty upsets in such tournaments. Even Italy had a tough time against Austria. Portugal won it in 2016 as an underdog. Italy certainly seems to be the most decent team left but I won't be surprised to see another upset.
@SonOfDrogo also football is about playing as a team. Some international sides have very talented individuals but it doesn't mean that they have a very good team.
@whoanalyzed yep, before the tournament Switzerland and Turkey were both described by many pundits as dark horses. However, because they both dropped points to a decent Wales side and both lost to a impressive Italy side, they were instead dismissed as poor.
France players are very arrogant and expected to win this easily. After watching the first half i can honestly say there is no way on earth France will win this game.
Kanté’s 66 passes is in 90 minutes or 120 minutes? Can anyone help me? Thanks
I am just praying for Paul Pogba to stay at Manchester United, and play the way he plays for France National team.
Switzerland deserved to win, but for me their first goal should have been disallowed: Seferovic pushes Lenglet on the back. It's really surprising how no France player complained about that.
@MrNemobody if it had been Portugal defending, they 100% would've disallowed it
@MrNemobody You have never played football :-) If you punish him for that, we'd better stop playing football.
France wanted to go home. That's all.
This is basically team former Yugo + Albania, lol. Coach is from Sarajevo, Seferovic is Bosniak, Gavranovic is Bosnian-Croat, Mehmedi Albanian...
@Shiznit The coach is also a Croat from Bosnia. In fact he has dual Croatian-Swiss citizenship just like Gavranovic.
@moo13 Vladimir also lived in Vrelo Bosne outside of Sarajevo. One of the prettiest places ever. @Shiznit long live Yugoslavia
@wesley_stankovic Jedan narod sa previse imena. :) Zivio!
Why wasn't Griezmann given the assist for Frances second goal?
@Amk It was counted as a shot instead, which was saved by Sommer, and the ball fell to Benzema after this save.
Love it!
Final will be Belgium - Spain or Belgium - Germany
@Stas_V. Really still picking all the favorites to win after what happened today
@NWPotato Can you explain what scientific method do you use to define who is favorite and who not?
@Stas_V. Belgium and Spain are in the same path.
@Pastore10 Germany hasn't played yet.
@MrNemobody England will beat them with a super ugly 1:0.
@Pastore10 What if they don't? (not a Germany fan at all)
That was the first time Switzerland won the penalty shootout. One of these they lost 0-3 against Ukraine in 2006 WC, were the first team not to score a single goal in the shootout. Today is really the special day.
Swiss coach should sent Rodríguez straight to Chile after this game!
My Thoughts; not starting Coman=??? Kempembe/Lenglet/Varane errors let France down. @ScottiePippen Italy or Belgium have to go through Spain first, mate.
@ScottiePippen I wouldn't overlook Spain - they also look like they could take it all. Croatia is a much harder team to play than Austria was
@LeChiffre Austria press a lot and they defend the depth with 11 players..That's tough to score...
@LeChiffre Croatia has more talented players here and there, but as a team they're not able to put on a high pressing, masterlcass defensive display like Austria did against Italy. @ScottiePippen Imagine Germany wins it, and Kai Havertz/ Timo Werner wins the Ballon d'Or. Lmao
@ScottiePippen got some 2006 Brazil vibes from this team, talent galore but not the most cohesive unit
Mbappe should RETIRE!
Congratulations Switzerland!
Worst penalty goal keeping lloris..
Crazy game, gotta love football

Both WC finalists go out today...amazing...

@bosco433 no one cares about Chelsea
Just backed the swiss @ 2.10 odds on exchanges
@nexus747 those odds might have got better later on but a win is a win! Congratulations!
@nexus747 ouch, before or after it went 1-1?
@MEHJones To bet on Switzeland with such low odd like that it was 0-1 for Switzerland, and it ended 3-3 anyway lol
Thankfully Lenglet taken off.
France players are very arrogant and expected to win this easily. After watching the first half i can honestly say there is no way on earth France will win this game.
@nexus747 lmao
Griezmann should be off the pitch
France no shot on target so far first half.
Really poor from France. Playing like they're leading by 3-0
France very poor so far.I will be amazed if they can win this now.
@nexus747 lots of time left. The ref might give them a penalty or send a Swiss player off.
Lenglet is terrible in defence.
@tar88s he really is, can't tell me Laporte isn't better
@KingKeno but Laporte mentioned he might play for a other country! One time! What choice did they have!
