Chelsea
- Cristian Romero and Son Heung-Min both remain absent for Tottenham, while Steven Bergwijn, who has been linked with a move to Ajax, is still classed as a doubt having failed to make the squad for Sunday's FA Cup win over Morecambe.
- Eric Dier is also ruled out, meaning Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies are likely to start in a three-man defence once again.
- Giovani Lo Celso was the star man against Morecambe and he could be rewarded with a place in the side on Wednesday night.
- Edouard Mendy is with the Senegal national team for AFCON and is absent, while Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell are sidelined due to injury.
- Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante have both recently endured stints on the sidelines owing to positive COVID-19 tests, but the pair may return for Wednesday's London derby.
- Thomas Tuchel started his side in a four-man backline in the first leg, but may revert to a three-man defence here.
You have to buy VAR too nowadays
@alx30 not one decision was incorrect lol
Very good training session for Chelsea at New Three Point Lane.
So there are new rules in the game? since when it's called offside if there is a defender player in the arc as a last man? I thought last man always enables the attacker, unless that last man is the keeper.
@dib you need to read the rules again mate, its been like this for donkeys.
@dib You seriously don't know the offside rule ? It has always been the rule that TWO players of the opposite team have to be in front of you to be onside. Usually it's the goalie+ one field player.
@neumi17 Thanks both for the explanation, I didn't know about it and I 'm not afraid for asking about something that I don't know.
@dib No problem, it's always good to ask something one doesn't know. I do it too.
And again: Antonio Conte doing Antonio Conte things xD
Kudos to Tuchel for successfully adapting to injuries and showing 4222 can work in England too with a competent team
@benj formations themselves don't "work" or "fail" in certain countries, it's the overall system and talent
@Chilly_B Formation and system means the same thing and a lot of pundits these days keep saying 4222 is too easily countered in the EPL and pound Rangnick
@benj what? So Klopp and Pep play the same system? Pundits are slamming Rangnick because the formation and/or system doesn't seem to suit the players he has

The spurs line-up shows exactly the level of confidence they have in overcoming the first leg score…0
Hmm this could be a 4-3-3 from Chelsea as Tuchel has been experimenting with the formations recently. The injuries to Chilwell and James are definitely a contributing factor
Gollini in goal rather than Lloris.... and no Skipp in midfield... Tottenham 0-4 Chelsea
Tottenham were poor in the away leg conceding two very soft goals early on. Chelsea failed to build on that advantage and but it seems unlikely that Tottenham will turn the tie around particularly without Dier, Romero, and Son. Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea
I think Tuchel will play the same duo in the back with Sarr and Rudiger.I can see him changing some offensive players like Lukaku and Havertz with Werner and Pulisic.Chelsea will play this game on the counter and probably score in both halves.I go for 1-2 FT
0-3
@eastend1 Conte actually has solid home numbers. I think First Half/Spurs is the bet - as long as he deals with Kovacic/Ziyech & Alonso correctly. Id reel them right into their own final 3rd which will allow Moura to get in behind every time. Silva is then forced to create a lane for Kane or let mouras pace go 1v1. This is why Kante is so important.
@mookie_bombs how did that work in the first leg?
Lewis Hall better start
