Team News

  • Patrik Schick is still working his way back to full fitness so is unlikely to feature here, while Florian Wirtz misses the rest of the season due to a knee injury and the absence of the duo is a huge blow for Bayer Leverkusen.
  • Jeremie Frimpong sustained an injury in the 1-0 defeat to FC Koln, so Timothy Fosu-Mensah may be needed at right-back. Kerem Demirbay is available following a ban and may deputise for Wirtz behind Lucas Alario.
  • Duvan Zapata and Josip Ilicic miss out for Atalanta here, while Aleksey Miranchuk trained away from the group on Monday so must be considered a doubt.
  • Gian Piero Gasperini may elect against wholesale changes to the side that started the first leg 3-2 win.

  • Bayer Leverkusen have won just one of their last five in all competitions. The German side will struggle without Patrik Schick and Florian Wirtz, however.
  • Atalanta were held to a 0-0 draw with Genoa at the weekend, and have won only two of their last six on the road. They have failed to score in two of their last three, but did put three past Bayer Leverkusen on home turf last week.
  • The hosts are still more than capable of netting even without Schick and Wirtz, but Atalanta may prove too much for the Bundesliga side.
