poland made it easy for argentina. in attack their only strategy was long balls to the few players up front & hope for some good link-up play & for other players to catch up but it never really happened as argentinas aggressive pressure on the first touch, decisive tackling & energy covered everything, it was always gonna be tough with that amount of players staying back. in defense, poland had a decent shape & the defenders were somewhat decisive and error-free (shouldve marked both scorer and assister of the first goal way better), they had too much respect for argentina, i was appalled at how much space they were giving them (esp messi & near box), at the lack of aggression, arg had all the freedom to do their game. poland sacrificed any control they could have in midfield by totally parking the bus and almost seeming like they didn't want to score the way they kept coming back instantly. against the other teams arg had it hard to navigate thru the middle, this was lightwork
@Sputnik Saudi Arabia managed to win against Argentina. Why wouldn't Poland be capable of winning against them? Obviously with another approach than the one they've chosen.
@BeautifulLoser It's hard to believe Poland ever had a chance of scoring against Argentina. I would have liked to see them at least try to get one, but this was pathetic.
@GioMonaldo Their first half against mexico was prob the worst since 2010, and certainly the worst I've seen since the qualifiers for 2018 world cup. Enzo Fernandez in 2nd half fixed that and I'm glad to see the team once gain secure in midfield. They are now a coherent team on the upswing.
they have a golden ball candidate striker. But all they do is playing heavily defend tactics. Poland have serious problem. They really lose before even playing this game.
@thefuckingbest8 what do you want them to do? Insist on not taking the penalty because it was unfair? :(
Shut up! You think the VAR were conspiring against Poland? You have a good imagination.
@BeautifulLoser Yeah my bad on the nationality, for w/e reason I remembered him as German.
Doesn't change the fact that he is a high profile referee when it comes to international football (be it club/national), so it's really frustrating to see such biased decision in a do-or die match for both teams.
@TNTt_nt France will give Messi a proper farewell spanking.. Even the referees cannot prevent that, especially if Lewandowski and Szczęsny have something to say about it
Wait the same scenario of the match Ecuador-Senegal and Iran-USA. Likely first half no goals. In the second half Argentina will score first and try to catch Poland on counter-attracts.
I mean the oposite - correct shots are 25 :D
Argentina's shots are 23, not 25... In whoscored is not correct statistics

@Icarax this
@wilde that
Poland did pretty well, considering they played with 10 men throughout.
Poland doesn't deserve the knockout stage. They had the chance to win against the worst Argentina since 2010, and they just parked the bus.
@BeautifulLoser You're talking absolute nonsense. Poland were never going to win this game not even in one case in a trillion.
@tkr I agree. Poland's tactical approach was beyond pathetic.
@BeautifulLoser who deserves it then?
@BeautifulLoser oh really? And how did parking the bus work out for them?
@Chancho Duh! That's exactly what I meant.
@BeautifulLoser maybe worst version of Messi but definitely not the worst Argentina since 2010.
@tkr disagree, I remember some WC qualifiers for the 2018 WC when Argentina were unwatchable and Messi was the only player worth watching.
We all know that penalty was fake so I think all Messi fans should be happy Szczesny saved it.
Argentina will face Australia instead of France with the results of the group
@hellreaper Wow, we didn't know that, thanks for the information!
@hellreaper bad news for Argentina
@GioMonaldo NO.
Messi missed pen and still 8.2 lmao
@DzidaZawodnik you understand that it's not a human that gives him the rating, right? Get tf outta of here, you pessimistic a-hole.
@DzidaZawodnik he didn't miss, the GK saved it, and that's why his rating is so low. Otherwise he had a great game, his passing was sublime.
@DzidaZawodnik Because he's the maestro
@DzidaZawodnik Key passes, dribbs, tackle, aerial... ??? whhy not?
Argentina - France again in 1/16. Revenge?
@Alparslan They will face Australia lol
@Alparslan Arg-Aus
ARRRRRRRGENTINAAA
they have a golden ball candidate striker. But all they do is playing heavily defend tactics. Poland have serious problem. They really lose before even playing this game.
@gincka And who would that be? Milik or Piatek perhaps?
@gincka what are you complaining about? They achieved exactly what they set out to do. They will approach the next game differently.
@Chancho we can hope
@gincka thanks to the coach, as usual
Mr Penalty - 26 penalty saved in the whole career, more than Neuer for example. Including 2 in World Cup. Wojtek Szczęsny.
@afx Don't get ahead of yourself, he still sucks.
Official stats say Szczesny saved 9 shots on goal in the first half. This guy is unbelievable, easily Golden Ball candidate.
Again, one more delusional penalty was gifted to Argentina by refs.
@thefuckingbest8 what do you want them to do? Insist on not taking the penalty because it was unfair? :( Shut up! You think the VAR were conspiring against Poland? You have a good imagination.
@thefuckingbest8 All penalties in this world cup are questionable like any soft touch is penalty
That was not a penalty. Messi headed the ball off target and the touch on his face was so light...
BTTS in second half
good example of cheet refereeing
Funny how those hopless Argentinians cheered a fake penalty just to find out that Messi could not beat Szczesny.
VAR disgrace
@3shots And this is an elite German referee allegedly... Guess FIFA wants Argentina in next round over Poland.
@DanInter Argentinians helped Germans not that long ago
@DanInter The ref is from the Netherlands.
@BeautifulLoser Yeah my bad on the nationality, for w/e reason I remembered him as German. Doesn't change the fact that he is a high profile referee when it comes to international football (be it club/national), so it's really frustrating to see such biased decision in a do-or die match for both teams.
@DanInter Was the referee of Spain vs. Germany.
@3shots punshed him in the face. How is that a disgrace?
@TNTt_nt France will give Messi a proper farewell spanking.. Even the referees cannot prevent that, especially if Lewandowski and Szczęsny have something to say about it
@Kingjigga get rekt bitch
@Kingjigga Shut it, nigga
@TNTt_nt keeper brushed messi face after the ball had gone, not a foul
@3shots So the keeper can just go and punch people in the face with no consequence?
@3shots justice
Over 8.5 corners
Poland to win, perfect defensive system and quick counter attack are what Poland did best until now.
@thefuckingbest8 HAHAAHHAAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHAHA
If Argentina beat Poland and win the group they then will face Australia in the knock out stages.
@Marbella If Saudi win as well then it could go down to goal difference.
1-0 Poland, Lewandowski '22
Vamos Argentina!!!
Argentina to win, Paul MacAllister to score.
@Alparslan His name is Alexis.
@Alparslan have you bet?
@jacobasil nah, not a gambling tipe unfortunatelly
I am going to wait for team line ups and tactics an hour before the game then decide if i will have a bet.
This match so important I took a sick day just to watch it.
I can't wait to see Lewandowski send that stumpy legged drip off to MLS.
@tinyclaw hey don't talk like that about your father!
I expect Poland to play a 5 man defence and have very defensive tactics.
@Marbella Lewandowski should start on his own up front so Poland can play a fifth man in defence.
Wait the same scenario of the match Ecuador-Senegal and Iran-USA. Likely first half no goals. In the second half Argentina will score first and try to catch Poland on counter-attracts.
Messi as a false 9? Really?
Lewy vs Messi - the Ultimate Clash
1-3 Argentina
Argentina to score over 1.5 goals @1.72
This a death match both teams will gove everything since its there legends last wc
This is when you will see the beast in Messi manifest.
@Uchenna Hope So, or else he flops out and ends his Legacy at the highest stage in disgrace
1-1/1-2
