Team News

  • Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic are back in the starting XI, while Stefan de Vrij is the only injured player in the current squad.
  • Khvicha Kvaratskhelia returns up front, while Amir Rrahmani will be rested in favour of Juan Jesus.

  • Inter, who are still yet to draw in Serie A this season, moved into fifth place after defeating Atalanta 3-2 before the winter break.
  • The Nerazzurri will host league leaders Napoli, who are currently unbeaten in Italy and on the back of an 11-game winning streak.
  • This is a massive game for the hosts as they seek to return to the top four, while there will be a lot of curiosity surrounding Napoli after their incredible run of form was interrupted by the World Cup.

  • deserved win for inter, better midfield and system that made it hard for napoli to combine through the middle all whilst creating more big chances than them - until they settled to defend their lead. i dont know why napoli were overcomplicating things such as choosing to cross, or weird passes in marked areas making it hard for teammates, rather than calming it down with short ground passes and especially simple & obvious through balls they were not seeing. inter did use through balls more and created some big chances with em including the goal (though it was a cross). in truth, i guess it was an off day for napoli who didnt quite click in the last third, its not like inter were an unmovable wall that didnt allow napoli to even get near the box.
