Team News

Man City
RBL
  • Manchester City have no injury or suspension concerns for their welcome of RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
  • Pep Guardiola could make a couple of changes to the side that started against Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne potentially starting here.
  • Christopher Nkunku is a doubt for the visitors, who are without Peter Gulacsi, Abdou Diallo, Dani Olmo and Xaver Schlager.
  • Amadou Haidara will likely deputise for Schlager alongside Konrad Laimer in midfield.

Prediction

  • Manchester City extended their winning run to four games, and unbeaten streak to eight, with a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Saturday. They've only failed to win twice at the Etihad Stadium this season.
  • RB Leipzig geared up for their testing trip to Manchester with a routine 3-0 win over Gladbach. The German side have won only three of their last seven, and fell to a 6-3 loss on their last game at City.
  • City were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg, but should book their spot in the quarter-finals here.

  • When Ederson rushed off his line did he get the ball or not?

  • @MEHJones he didn`t, but that was a yellow card foul maximum, that would not have affected the game at all.

  • @tar88s presumably he didn't get sent off because he wasn't wearing a Wales shirt in the World Cup.

  • @MEHJones Don't worry about it. We would have still won the match with 10 men and Kyle Walker in goal!

  • @RichieRochdale No, you would not have.

  • @Sputnik Oooooohhhhhh, yes, we would!

  • @RichieRochdale No, you would not have.

  • You can't trust Marco rose in big matches.

  • 1st goal was a gift of a penalty 2nd goal may have been offsides, Blaswich just slapping the ball back to the front of the box gave him 2 more goals. 5 goals SMH. Enjoyed KDB's goal and not give a damn celebration a lot more.

  • 45 goals in 41 games for club and country this season for Haaland Not bad...

  • @mvw2020 It's terrible

  • Leipzig midfield terrible. None of them deserve rating higher than 5...literally left defenders to fend for themselves...can't play like that...

  • Haaland has something against Leipzig

  • We expected this to happen but we never anticipated Man City to take RB Leipzig to 7th heaven.

  • That's such a messed up decision to make, you seriously cannot sub him out now of all times!!

  • @Nanami I was just as gutted about taking him off as I was elated at the number of goals he just scored!

  • Fuck Guardiola for subbing off Haaland. He was a goal away from breaking the all-time record for most goals in a Champions League game.

  • @agunchev That's probably why he substituted him. Guardiola likes Messi much more than Haaland.

  • @Sputnik That record is shared by Messi with another player, I don't thing that Guardioa was trying to protect the record.

  • The Germans are taking one hell of a beating.

  • This is too easy lol

  • PL cooking Bumdesliga again

  • Ederson?? What did?! Nothing...

  • Seriously? I mean... SERIOUSLY?

  • @Sputnik Never watched the CL before? Everything is handball

  • @Sputnik It's not question, touch the hand to the ball. But Before the situation, push Henrich back, and he couldn't see the ball. About 30 cm come the ball. Do you understand, what I mean?

  • @Entonii8 No, because your English is not good.

  • It was a farcical award... It was a fault, because pushed Henrics back... Congrat VAR.

  • both teams to score in both halves 4-3

  • 100% city win here

  • MC 2:0

  • Both Goals came off mistakes in the 1st leg, I feel like City came out a little lazy in the 2nd half. Leipzig overloaded the left side and City went all in, in defending that side leaving tons of space for Henrichs, he missed a gift in front of goal and could be afforded the same space here today. Leipzig had 3 sometimes 4 guys in the back with eyes on Haaland especially when City were in the attacking 3rd with Possession. Hard to get City onside and find value here, based on the odds I think the books see it 2-0 or 3-0 City. I like the Under 2.5 Goals here for value. Both teams were lucky to score in the first leg, so many players in the middle of the pitch make it hard for City to find space for Haaland. KDB wonder goal or Assist just seems like a game where he shows up. Wouldn't bet against Leipzig scoring given that City could get Lazy if they go up 2-0 in the 1st half. City to win Both Halves.

  • @FootyFiyah Excellent analysis and posts like this make it worth my time reading the Comments section of whoscored.com You should do previews for these guys, FootyFiyah!

  • @RichieRochdale thanks..... Kampl will come offfor Olmo around 60 mins if they keep it close, Silva will probably come on for Forsberg at the same time.

  • Realistically Leipzig doesn't stand a chance but maybe it's gonna be a draw and then Leipzig wins it on penalties. It's has been proven now that City scores less goals with Haaland upfront.

  • @neumi17 I bet you couldn't be more wrong if you tried

  • Extremely likely that City win, but wouldn’t it be hilarious if the upset happened today

  • Manchester City wins 2-0.

  • Man City have won 14 of their last 16 CL home games.

  • I thought we got away with one on Saturday against Palace. Super Kev is back in the starting 11 for this, defo. Champions League means too much to old "Fraudiola." With some influential players missing for Leipzig, and Home advantage, I'm going City 3.1

  • @RichieRochdale Ha ha ha !!! Didn't even read the whoscored.com preview before I wrote my prediction! LOL

  • Man City to win 1-0 over leipzig

  • If Leipzig wasn't struggle with injuries, could be a dangerous game.

  • Leipzig to progress.

  • @Sputnik Sure

  • 4-0 city

  • Man City 4-2

  • Haaland has scored 34 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions and currently leads the EPL Golden Boot race with 28 goals already this campaign.

  • @Marbella The goalscoring machine strikes again lmao

  • @Marbella It seems crazy to say it of a 34 Goalscorer but, yes, there is a problem within this team with Haaland. Otherwise we'd be Top Of The Pops in the Prem rather than Arsenal. Results of matches speak for themselves. I've said this before but perhaps City can solve this problem by having, in effect, two First Teams; one based on supplying Haaland and a second one (possibly built around Alvarez with no Haaland in it) playing more as a Tika-Taka, Guardiola-type team? Haaland is an outstanding player and I would really, really like him to stick around for many more years to come. I am sure old "Fraudiola" will think of something!

  • @Marbella However it has City's biggest now that they score LESS goals than the seasons before ! Their game has become too predictable because of Haaland. Yes, he scores a lot of goals but the entire built-up and team chemistry has changed.

  • @neumi17 * problem

  • @Marbella tell me how many of his goals was to top teams ?
