  • BONO deserves way better than only 7.8 points after carrying his team to quarter finals

  • @bighearted 'Carrying' is an overstatement. He had only two saves, he didn't have much to do at all until the penalties.

  • HUGE Congratulations to morocco for making history, Spain felt useless with these brave Moroccan players, mama Africa kisses Spain goodbye

  • Iam just speechless, not by morroco but from prediction Eto made before world cup to send morroco to finals.

  • @MickeyClark he also said Cameroon and Marocco arent in Final

  • Morocco such a disgrace, only defence, they will not passed england/france even if they got lucky to win over Portugal

  • @wdetac hold datttt u hobbit

  • @pibedebarrio as a England fan it is much easier to face Morocco than Spain if we get pass France, but the way Morocco played was disgusting

  • @wdetac the way morocco played is brilliant and it is part of football tactics italy is the school of defense with four world cups but no body seems to havr a problem with that the one to blame here is spain they couldn't pass moroccan defense and lost all penalties as a moroccan i'am proud of what we have accomplished, we don't wan to win the world cup we only want to have fun and see how far we can go, at least we have enough descent football.in our country that i don't need to call my self an england fan or argentina fan... or whatever not my original country team to daydream with and illude my reality

  • @wdetac Doesn't matter what they did to reach here it's all about passion they worked hard for it.

  • Rodri with 207 of 223 passes completed. Ffs.

  • Yet another SHITTY rating for Amrabat who dominated the midfield and killed any danger from the center.

  • Lol Barcelona got rekt

  • @Sinaj Spain*. I swear, people like you are the biggest idiоts in football.

  • @Sputnik Because after Spain beat costa rica 7-0. many barca fans say spain is just barca in disguise.

  • @gen I don't care why you said it, it is a national team, not a club. End of.

  • Soler is c**p

  • Побежал за мандаринами в магазин!

  • i saw a comment and i wanted to share it to stir trouble xD , a madridista (Hakimi) always win

  • Morocco felt at home with that crowd. Congratulations to them and their fans!

  • I am not surprised. Useless midfielder trio did it again, how could Luis Enrique think Busquets - Pedri - Gavi are better than Rodri - Thiago - Llorente ? The most overrated team in World Cup history.

  • @thefuckingbest8 Busquets is a world class player and Llorente is not going to be the difference. Thiago has a bad season.

  • @Gewoonmoi Having a bad season doesnt mean he played bad, at least Thiago would be better than 2 overrated clowns, i promise. Busquets is a world class at his best but he cant shot from distance, Rodri can. Llorente, tier 1 of box to box midfielder, he could do almost stuff from defend to attack.

  • @thefuckingbest8 Thiago would add nothing. Spain completely dominated Morocco in midfield. Their problem was that they couldn't create chances in front of goal and Thiago is not a player who's creating chances.

  • Avoiding a team against whom you scored 5 goals in the Euro in order to face one of the best defences in the World Cup. I like Spain, but Luis Enrique got what he deserved. That's not how you win a tournament.

  • @Sputnik Losing to Japan was never deliberate, Spain just don't have a player who can score or create a good chance. The Costa Rica game made them look good. At the final whistle of the Japan game, the last they had heard was that Costa Rica were beating Germany and they were going out. They still tried to score but couldn't. They wouldn't have risked going out of the group stages just for an "easier" draw

  • @joshualiley72 yes it was .. he wanted to avoid the other side cause there is brazil even if he won croatia and it's wise from him tho he didn't invest time to study us more

  • @joshualiley72 It was deliberate. You're blind if you didn't see it.

  • @joshualiley72 They didn't hear that at the final whistle but during the middle of the game.

  • morocco played like they wanted it more, well anyway extremely good defense and decisions by the fullbacks, decisive tackling by the centrebacks, this is what you have to do, you gotta wonder why you actually dont see this level of aggression in other top level UCL or WC games. my point about the quality of attackers for spain proved true, i mean olmo was alright but asensio, morata, sarabia... useless. also my point about the passing but not actually doing anything. and for once that zoltan guy is correct about the long shots, why did spain keep on passing to the wings when the attacker was in enough space in the center just outside the box to shoot?

  • Great teams are those who can beat an opponent even when their opponent plays well defensively. That's because great teams either CREATE SHOOTING CHANCES that are impossible to defend (quick one touch passing game and immediate shots from a shooting range), or CREATE SET PIECE OPPORTUNITIES that are well rehearsed and surprising enough for the defence to be at a loss against those set pieces. Spain failed on both of those fronts because of their coach. I am sorry to say, but at this level you must know the aforementioned simple things to work with a talented team such as that of Spain. P.S. I also hope that Spain's disappointing stats - 926 completed passes out of 1019 attempted passes (91% precision) against a mere 1 shot on target - are convincing enough to finally discard the defensive minded coaches who think that possession based football is the name of the game. It is definitely not!

  • @Zoltan Switzerland

  • BAJAHAHAHAH owned all hobbits VAMOS MARRUECOS

  • Spain managed ONE shot on goal in 127 minutes + missed all their penalties. You can't get kicked out more deserved.

  • Morocco won the strategic part of this game: they were the weaker team offensively, so they had confidence in their defence, which delivered in the end. Also, as far as logic is concerned, it made sense to carry the game to penalty kicks, as Morocco had the far better goalkeeper of the two teams, in Bono. Louis Enrique didn't have full confidence in his team's offensive capabilities and visibly they didn't practice shooting from a distance. In fact, Spain might not even has long range shots in its offensive arsenal, which means that they only rely on the errors committed by their opponents. Unfortunately for them, Morocco's defence was confident enough not to make any mistakes.

  • @Zoltan Shots on goal were 2-1 in favor of Morocco. So I don't think Spain had the better offence. In the last 3 games and 322 minutes Spain managed only 9 shots on target and 2 goals.

  • Deserved qualification. Marocco dominated the game with 7 goal chances while Spain had surprisingly 0 chances.

  • @hellreaper olmo had a couple of efforts but were rubbish

  • Hahahahahaha

  • What a performance by Bono! Now we know which group was really "group of death". Marocco see you in finals. Cheers from Croatia.

  • @Ewerfekt Bono did perform very well though. I agree with that.

  • @Ewerfekt Woah, Woah, Woah. Don't you think that you are going a little to far? Finals? Nah.

  • @DM3T I got expeirence in this stuff. Believe me last time it was even less likely then now. I just hoped to not meet Spain or France in KO. And Morocco got that side of bracket.

  • @Ewerfekt if you say so.. We will see..

  • @DM3T maybe. maybe not. can't predict this WC

  • @benemsley I guess you're right. Saudi Arabia’s 2-1 against Argentina came out of nowhere.. But first, they would need to deal with Switzerland or Portugal. Then they would need to deal with The big, BIG teams like France, Brazil or England. Spain is horrible at pens, if they manage to defend in the next games and avoid goals until the 120th minute, a penalty shootout like this won't happen again. (Maybe with France, but I think England will get them out first.)

  • @DM3T You remember last EURO finals right? Thing is stronger team always is less motivated when shooting pens.

  • Spain even better at penalties than Japan.

  • Morocco win

  • Yes Morocco ! Fully deserved

  • Spain is so useless that cant even score from penalties lol good,

  • @koziol.mutant Yes they were looking to whom they can pass penality and Bono was only option.

  • @koziol.mutant did the same thing last WC. Lol

  • lose Japan to avoid Brazil. Now they get kick out by Moroco. What a joke

  • Morocco win on pens

  • Okay, now the scene is set for the weaker team to advance during Penalty Kicks, which is Morocco. Well done, Luis Enrique! LOL

  • @Zoltan How can Morocco be the weaker team if Spain didn't create any scoring chances in 120+ minutes ?

  • I'm Moroccan and I would not feel bad if Morocco lose now. I feel like they have played a very honorable game, extremely well organized, with moments of attacking ingenuity. No shame in losing it now to be honest. My biggest fear was a total destruction. This Morocco has a lot of potential for the future as well. It has one of the youngest squads of this tournament.

  • @Gewoonmoi congrats!

  • Keeper saved Spain. I think Bounou will cause some problems for Spain if case of penalties.

  • Morocco has just failed in a 1v1 with the goalkeeper!

  • @DM3T Biggest chance of the game.

  • Morocco played so negative with a 10 man defence in their own half for the whole game.

  • @Marbella Marocco had like 6 or 7 goal chances, Spain had none

  • @Marbella This is true especially in the second half, but in the first half they really tried to go forward. They're just overwhelmed by this Spain. Defending is all they have in them right now.

  • Spain dominated second half. Morocco seems tired. They have only one sub left. I feel like Morocco needs a miracle to win this.

  • @Gewoonmoi Hopefully they win it without a miracle.

  • @neumi17 cry me a river when Spain wins

  • @Socio4Life Luckily I don't have to and you can cry now.

  • Spain is such a boring team,I hope Morocco advances.

  • @neumi17 BOTH teams were very boring.

  • @Marbella But Spain was the favorite and Morocco not expected to play entertainingly.

  • @neumi17 yeah.

  • Confidence in your strength and logic: these are the two crucial items for a winning strategy. Last night the Japanese had confidence in their strength - defence - but were totally illogical in carrying the game into penalties where they got exposed for their weakness in executing penalties. They should have forced a win in regular time. Today both teams have offensive strengths, yet they still confide in their defensive abilities. Playing safe and lack of long range shots shows a lack of confidence from both sides. That's why this game will also go to penalties. P.S. I don't even see well rehearsed set pieces that could save your ass when you are clueless like today.

  • I would love to see another penalty shootout.

  • Finally, both teams have sped up their game and also apply pressure to force errors. But they still don't shoot from a distance: not good enough!

  • "Morocco defence is hard to break down....blah...blah...blah.....praise the TSN invited ex player commentators." Well, if you play old boys style slow football like Spain, then it is hard because you give the defence time to shot down the passing channels. Otherwise, if you speed up your passing game by enforcing one touch football, then there's no team who could stop you from scoring (e.g. last night Brazil finally gave up on his previous defensive mindset).

  • @Zoltan If your understanding about football is so great, I wonder why wouldn't any top European Clubs hire you as their manager?

  • @FootballFanatics ...because they could not pay me enough! LOL ....and because they don't need quality: can't you see what kind of coaches are there virtually everywhere? Clueless Portugues and Brazilian coaches with totally defensive mindset that contaminates even the minds of other coaches who mistakenly think that the wise thing to do is to play safely (aka. out of fear). The time of real coaches like Jupp Heinkess or Johann Cruyff is over - Cruyff even said that football is a very simple game, but it is very difficult to play it the simple way (probably because of the fear factor).

  • Marocco damn organized and good and the thing is that im not even surprised.

  • Boufal is just shaking three Spanish defenders off like it's nothing. He thinks he's playing for Brazil. Morocco have the best organized African team ever. Their defense is beyond solid and with Boufal and Ziyech up front they should be able to create real chances. Morocco's problem is that they don't have creativity in center midfield. Spain has a great team, but it lacks attacking quality. Morocco can really win this if they stay sharp.

  • @Gewoonmoi Boufal is crazy this game. He is teaching Spain how to dribble. Goalkeeper also.

  • All these idiots would have to do is to link up quickly with one touch passing game and shoot immediately when getting into shooting range. Second wave players would have to be ready to follow up from balls bouncing out from the goalkeeper. What they do instead? They keep passing even inside a box giving the defence plenty of chances to clear the ball. They are using low probability short passing game within a crowded area. The coaches are looking on mindlessly.......

  • imagine being frustrated at the match and your first instinct is to rant on WhoScored.com

  • Most ridiculous World Cup I have ever seen with all these 0-0 games in the first half! In fact, the worst World Cup I have ever seen!

  • @Zoltan Most amazingly amazing World Cup I have ever seen with all these tough games in the first half! In fact, the best World Cup I have ever seen!

  • @Zoltan Worst I've seen and I've been watching them since 1982. Far too many boring games and the refereeing is scandalous.

  • @Zoltan One of the best World Cups in ages.

  • @Gewoonmoi Yeah, if you are 12 years old! LOL

  • After 30 minutes the shots : on target ratio is 1:0 for both teams. I don't think any of these teams deserve to advance to the next stage!

  • @Zoltan That's not how football works and, based on your past comments, I think dropping football would do you some good.

  • @Ausp Another 12 year old comment. Sit down please! LOL

  • @Zoltan those 2 guys that you called 12 year old know 100x more about football than you sir .. and clearly you are from the country that call it soccer

  • Wow Boufal dance! Goosebumps.

  • Both teams with strong defences and yet they don't shoot from a distance. Total nonsense! You don't need a coach to play this stupid "game plan". As a player I just go out and pass the ball around in the safest manner possible (aka. short range passing without risk, but also without any promise offensively). To score you need to take risks: none of these teams are taking any risk. What's more, they don't even excel at set pieces, so I think it will be a low scoring game (even 0-0 is possible). Remember: Marocco has already played 0-0 against a team very similar to Spain: Croatia.

  • @Zoltan I am also wondering why we don't see more long shots in general on this WC. There is crazy amount of good low block teams yet everybody is trying to walk into goal. Maybe teams are scared of counters from lost balls, yet as you say some risk must be made if you want to win,

  • @Ewerfekt Actually, the least risk for a counterattack is when you shoot form long range. No, I think that much acclaimed Spanish possession game (the tiki-taka) has became so pervasive in modern football, that coaches have forgotten about the essence of game, which is to score goals. And scoring goals can NOT only happen one way - from the inside of the box - in fact against a team parking the bus such as Morocco, trying to score from within the box is the least optimal solution. That's why Spain lost today and that's why I don't understand what Luis Enrique was doing today on the bench!

  • Asensio 3 shots 6/1

  • I don't understand Luis Enrique and his choices. Last Euro he insisted on starting with Morata when he missed all the chances he get. but Now he he scores in every match he played, you'd think he will start but no.

  • Go Morocco! Its time for some upset already. Cheers from Croatia

  • Morocco 0 Spain 1. Morata to score.

  • Morocco 11 Spain 0. Boufal to score.

  • Spain Win

  • Spain to win this one in 90 minutes

  • It isn't a group stage . From now only strong defense in hard use. First not get one then maybe something we can manage in front alway is extra time. Don't believe in penalties because poor goalkeeper of Spain but extra time is very possible. Anyway it will be low score.

  • olmo to score from outside the box 20/1

  • Basically every conceivable result is predicted by you geniuses below... Not enough value to back Spain so I think I'll bet what has worked out well in the past few games and that is player tackle props.

  • @Willsta147 need to cut the grass mate

  • Under 2.5 goals and rooting for Morocco to qualify QTR finals

  • Both teams to score can be the most promising pick cuz I'm seeing 1X in 90 minutes.

  • Spain easy win

  • I like bts here… i think Morocco have a chance to qualify… but only in 90m… CS:2-1 Maybe Ziyech scores here.

  • Morocco to go through High scoring game 3-2 or something

  • Morocco will qualify. We believe in ' avocado head' ♥

  • I'm not impressed with Spain, but I feel like they will destroy Morocco. Morocco has quality, but they will lose their nerves.

  • for the sake of football hope Morocco progresses. Spain has a weak gk against long-range shots, which Morocco are capable of, also they are prone to fast counters/crosses. They play that boring, ancient titi-taka.

  • @koziol.mutant they are already planning for that "Spain coach Luis Enrique hopes his players' "homework" of practising 1,000 penalties will pay off against Morocco in the World Cup last 16.", hope go out.

  • 0-1 , P goal for Spain

  • Under 2.5 goals @1.66

  • @yourfootballtips.com Spain to score over 1.5 goals @1.83

  • Don't underestimate Morocco - will go to pens this one

  • Morocco through

  • Morocco 0 Spain 1.

  • 0-2 Spain

  • @Marbella Not a chance

  • Morocco has impressed me in this WC, if they won against Belgium who last World Cup made it to the Semi Finals, they can knock Spain out here.

  • @DanMan123 Draw against last WC finalists too.

  • Keep your eyes not on Spain & Croatia but on Morocco & Japan. Don't be used to names and flags of nations this time.

  • I can see another shock here.

  • Amrabat will eat Pedri and Gavi like couscous

  • for once im gonna go for the underdogs (also cuz now ive actually watched the teams). spain's stubbornness to play possession gives the impression that they dominate but honestly as long as they dont find openings its totally fruitless, especially in a cup tournament teams can beat them in the small details or counterattacks as japan did and theyre out. they are more direct and therefore dangerous this year than in the previous 2 editions, not sure they can win the world cup with players like olmo, asensio, morata and ferran as regulars, but if they do itll be after getting low-scoring draws. i think a great lively underdog like morocco can get them out already due to these things (as opposed to another european giant with their boring carefulness also trying to outplay spain)
