- Nuno Mendes is still out after picking up a thigh injury against Uruguay.
- Otavio is still recovering from a muscle injury, so he is a doubt here.
- Danilo Pereira is still expected to miss out after sustaining a rib injury in a training session.
- Renato Steffen missed the first game owing to upper body muscle tension, so remains a doubt for this game.
Wow, maybe Ronaldo should stay on the bench forever..
Habemus “Pistoleiro” hehe :) Ramos is rising to the world..
Benchnaldo , lmao
Seriously, who still likes CR7? Even Georgina doesn't actually like him. She's with him for the money.
@Sputnik fact
Pepe was obviously captain, not Dalot.
@E.Nygma c stands for clearance off the line
There's a guy who's saying I predicted this and I predicted that in about every three comments, one or two will eventually come true if you predict so many things. Same guy who denied over 2.5 goals because no one can get past so called best GK in the world who just conceded 6 goals, boasting about how his bet won because he predicted many goals. Micheal Owen level of cringe, congrats to Portugal for making into semi-final in advance.
@Byakuya Only Ronaldo fanboys liked your comment and they all faded away, along with Portugal.
@Byakuya you were saying? Look at the quarter final scores.
@Byakuya Let us wait until they face the best defence at the tournament before we decide whether they will reach the semi-final, all right?
@Sputnik Did you wait while saying that Switzerland will kick Portugal out or Argentine will get the cup even against their low-quality performances so far? Nope, don't waste people's time with your 50 IQ.
@Byakuya If you think Argentina's perfomances have been low quality so far, you know nothing about football and I have nothing to discuss with you anymore. I'm not even going to try explaining why they are the exact opposite of low quality, you wouldn't get it.
@Byakuya man said on the Argentina match centre that Switzerland were the lone best team at the World Cup lol
@Byakuya His talking to much because his one prediction (out of many) comes true.
@Byakuya @Zoltan is his name
Suprising final score. And the CR7 substitute made a hat trick, probably would be awarded as MOTM, so that means Cristiano would probably end on the bench. Also surprised in a good well about Joao Felix and his 2 assistances, he's a forward after all, he'd been on bench in the Aleti this season maybe Cholo will regret about that.
@dib Felix's natural position is attacking midfielder despite of forcing him into forward position regularly by most of his coaches. He can see on the pitch but his killer instinct is not as great of that of Goncalo Ramos or Haaland.
@Zoltan I have to agree with you on that one. Félix isn't a finisher but he was great fist touches and vision to make assists and combinations
@hellreaper has great first touches*
Semifinals: Neymar vs Messi and Ronaldo vs Mbappe Finals: Messi vs Ronaldo Winner: Ronaldo See youuuuuuuuu!!!!! (in final)
@Alparslan The media fraud will never win anything again! Well, except maybe some tinpot trophy in Arabia, which doesn't count in the grand scheme of things anyway. DO YOU HEAR ME?
@Alparslan you mean: brazil vs argentina, portugal (probably with ronaldo not playing) vs france, and argentina vs portugal (again with ronaldo not playing)? classic cr7tard ball knowledge
@Alparslan dream on
@Alparslan portugal will lose if ronaldo plays
@Alparslan Sorry but Ronaldo will be on the bench
There it is! A goal from Rafael Leao, another in form player whom Santos should have played, as I said before!
@Zoltan wow! I'm impressed. You're a real genius.
@Zoltan where do you think he would play if he was in the starting 11? i think bruno and felix are shining in their wing positions and goncalo ramos just had the game of his life
ramos, bruno, felix, leao, horta this attack in insane
@benemsley Exactly what I demanded in the starting lineup! If they would have all started, it would have been a double digit win for Portugal!
@Zoltan You demanded Joao Mario in place of Bruno LMFAO
@DonPedro5 @zoltan is a joke of a guy, he basically is a benfica supporter and wants benfica players at the national team
Goncalo Ramos is right up there with Haaland - even better than Lewandowski!
@Zoltan ok. How old is Lewandowski? why you compare a player in his 20 and a player in his 30?
F***, Morocco is screwed.
@Gewoonmoi Morocco will give it their best shot, unlike Switzerland, who played like old ladies.
@tinyclaw Also, Morocco actually have a good defence. Unlike Switzerland, who have, well... Manuel Akanji.
@tinyclaw We're screwed anyway. If we win against Portugal, we have to face France. Frankly, Portugal is screwed as well. As good as it is, France is even better.
What's CR's free kicks attempted to free kicks scored ratio in the last 5 years? 150:1? Serious question
@wilde when Messi is taking a free kick, you know that it's either going to be a goal or qt the very least, it's going to be a really great attempt. It's almost guaranteed.
@wilde lousy technique. Just kick the ball as hard as possible in the direction of the goal, and see what happens. He doesn't have the footballing brain to be talking free kicks. It's ridiculous how he puffs the cheeks like that. What tf is all that about? And that stance. It's always so anticlimactic whenever he steps up to take a free kick. You just know it's going over the bar or into the wall. And yet nobody has the balls to tell him to get lost.
@Chancho exactly
@wilde Finally someone who thinks here! You are right! CR has a horrible attempt to score ratio and no one seems to notice!
@Zoltan Poland - Hungary bromance, what a surprise! You two can go FUCK YOURSELVES in the kitchen !
@Zoltan Actually everybody knows that Ronaldo has been awful with free kicks in the last 10 years. Almost everyone is better. The only question that remains is : Why is Ronaldo still taking free kicks ?
@neumi17 In the last 8 years. It started in 2014 when he got injuried in the knee. I don't know why Guerreiro or Bruno aren't taking them...
Let's all thank to CR that his disobedience paved the way to the rise of a new football phenomenon, Goncalo Ramos, because without CR's disobedience Fernando Santos would have never substituted him in the starting lineup. At the age of only 21, on his very first WC game in the starting lineup Goncalo Ramos scored 3 goals and assisted 1 against a Swiss team that only allowed 2 goals in 10 qualifying games previously. Now, THAT'S what I call a man in form!
@Zoltan I'm not impressed that easily, like you seem to be. I don't think Real Madrid are going to try sign up off the back of a decent world cup performance. Let's put it that way.
Let's all thank to the Media Fraud Cristiano Ronaldo that his disobedience paved the way to the rise of a new football star, Goncalo Ramos, because without CR's disobedience Fernando Santos would have never included Ramos in the starting lineup and we would have to be forced to watch another mindless 0-0 at half time. Goncalo Ramos managed to score 3 goals and assisted 1 against a Swiss team that only conceded 2 goals in 10 qualifying games earlier and he did so at the age of 21, on his very first WC game in the starting lineup. Not starting him on all the other games was basically a crime!
Hatrick for Ramos
half an hour left and I need a corner and a card
@3shots now a card please
Goncalo Ramos: 2 goals, 1 assist so far (and there are still 30 minutes left of the game). The stats of a man in form!
To all the teenagers out there: do you see how much a real forward counts, who can break the deadlock as soon as possible??? No more that garbage of playing 0-0 in the first half: he can drag the entire team into the party, irrespective of the inability of his coach!
Not to mention that my bet is won now, thanks to him! :)
CR Who! A new star is born on the ashes of the old media fraud, just as I predicted: Goncalo Ramos scores his 2nd goal against the best goal keeper in the World! :)
ramos wow, what a performance
his team is winning and he is nail-biting on the bench. Don't understand how people still support cr7?
@gincka The earlier he realizes he is now 38 not 25 the better him. No emotions, he was a great player. But there has to be a time to leave the stage
@gincka. Anyone who is benched after being the main man would do that. No athlete will be happy sitting on the bench if he is fit and you would understand that if you played any sports.
@Zues1 you have the worst attitude for a team sport then. No athlete will be happy if he is sitting on the bench? What about if your team, your brothers, are winning on behalf of your entire country? Individually, no athlete wants to sit on the bench. But putting individual feelings ahead of the success of your team and teammates and by extension your entire country? Pathetic. If you play team sports and that’s your attitude, your teammates don’t like you. I promise.
switzerland extremely weak no quality or structure, cant pass much, when they attack i look at the midfield and i wonder where they are, its nonexistent. only dangerous cuz of embolo and vargas good fast and trying things after receiving long passes. may turn out to be the worst ro16 participant together with south korea. portugal on the other hand very sharp, brave, incisive, direct, forward-thinking, full of quality, can combine together, stars can pull off individual brilliance as well.
I see now why Portugal fans wanted Goncalo Ramos to be included in the starting 11 instead of the media fraud.
@Sputnik Media Fraud! I love that LOL Yeah, Goncalo Ramos is way better than CR, he now proved it! If Portugal goes through, the Media Fraud will have a very difficult time to get back into the first line up! And with this new attacking phenomenon, Portugal has now a real chance to win the World Cup!
To all the 12 year olds: Do you see how an in form player (Goncalo Ramos) beats probably the best goalkeeper in the World (Yann Sommer)???
@Zoltan imagine saying Bruno Fernandes has been horrible yet just assisted once again and made a brilliant key pass to Ramos just failed a goal in front of the gk
@noxer ....and after a second look, that pass to Ramos was given by Felix, not Fernandes.....time to get new glasses! ;)
@noxer yeah, yeah, what was brilliant about that simple Fernandes pass inside in the box??? the brilliance was how Ramos surprised the goalkeeper from that impossible angle. The other situation was an enormous save by Sommer - it was placed perfectly in the corner. All Fernandes did so far was couple crosses in no man's land or lifting the ball into the box right into the defence.... LOL
@Zoltan you re dumb. The one which you call "enormous save" by Sommer was actually a brilliant pass from Fernandes. And it wasnt an enormous save. It was just a horribly placed shot by a man who is having the game of his life
@noxer ....and the man played like this throughout the season while you were asleep and while I won my bets with his help! LOL
@noxer ...you know nothing about football. Sit down!
Those squad numbers need to be abolished. The starting XI should wear 1-11.
I hope the Swiss will play counterattack just like against Serbia because they were phenomenal at that (and because we will see a high scoring game with plenty of opportunities to bet live).
Flip an Infinity x infinity sided coin to decide the winner!
@JSOneHundred Flip an infinity + 4 sided coin to decide the winner!*
It's funny how the Bruno Fernandes stats make him look so good, and yet, while I was watching his game, it never occurred to me that he has played well: no amazing passes into the channel, no long range shots, no surprising solutions at all - he used to do those at Manchester United couple years ago. The same observation holds for Joao Felix, who has made the worst decision of his life by joining Atletico Madrid with Diego Simeone not being able to use him. Joao Felix should have gone to Dortmund with Haaland long ago - he would have been at City now also with Haaland. But he went for the big money, instead of using his brain. Maybe he is not so intelligent after all.
@Zoltan when you are watching I think Bruno is 50% bad but he makes for one or two key passes. if you look silva who never loses the ball but also never takes any risk passed that give him high rating in here
@Zoltan Bruno have played carefully since ETH being United's coach.
@Zoltan you re clueless. He is undoubetly the best player of this portugal team and the one who has been standing out the most lmfao
I think tonight's game will come down as Goncalo Ramos vs Yann Sommer! And at the end of the game everyone will say: Cristiano Who??? LOL
If Shaqiri shows his magic, the Swiss can scrape through. That said, it’s very likely Portugal goes through - they play like s*** but they’re clutch
@sarigginsUSA Being a magician in the MLS means sh** in the real world.
I am so happy to finally see Goncalo Ramos, the most promising Portuguese young talent, on the starting team, even if this change comes on the heel of the extremely egoistic attitude of the coach Fernando Santos. But the truth is that Cristiano Ronaldo didn't play well at all, and maybe this egoistic decision of the coach will be the key to Portugal's success. Goncalo Ramos basically carried on his shoulders Benfica. The big question that remains: how will Goncalo Ramos be serviced by Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandes, because those two did not play well at all up to this point (in fact, they have been playing awful in their club teams as well). I would have also subbed in Ricardo Horta, Joao Mario, and Rafael Leao as well, because those brave changes would have made for an awesome counterattacking game against the Swiss with Goncalo Ramos as the focal point. Everyone raves about Cristiano Ronaldo, but Goncalo Ramos is the man of the moment: he is as opportunistic as Raul used to be.
El Bicho on the bench
@toleadibilu Oh, that's a bit surprising! And Gonçalo Ramos is going to start. Gonçalo is way better than André Silva!
@hellreaper Not way better, Goncalo Ramos is simply awesome! He will most likely score today, and maybe not even once!
1/2
When both teams are good, it always comes down to the coach: the better coach is Yakin by far - Santos is too conservative and sticks to the attackers least in form, based on their pedigree (Ronaldo, Fernandes, Felix are in a really poor form and just struggle throughout the WC - even B. Silva is not playing that well). Therefore, Switzerland should win, unless Santos will replace the above players with Gonzalo Ramos, Rafael Leao, Joao Mario, and Ricardo Horta. These guys are in great form and their teams are dominating the championships in which they play (unlike the players favoured by Santos).
@Zoltan All of you below, 12 year old and younger, take notes today on Goncalo Ramos because you have no clue about how a player in good form looks like. Good form is not about stats, but about following the player in the season and noticing that he does not just finds goals through penalties, but CONSISTENTLY scores with headers and shots. Capisci??? ;)
@Zoltan I got used to his dumb comments but this one, wow. The guy said Fernandes is in a really poor form, meanwhile he has the best contribution with 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games. Probably Messi fanboys liked his comment because including Ronaldo, soon they will all disappear alongside with Argentina.
@Byakuya Just watch Goncalo Ramos tonight and you will see how a player in truly good form looks like. Until then, you may sit down! ;)
@Zoltan Even if he scores, that won't take anything from Fernandes as they're different kind of players. That will be even most likely thanks to Fernandes as well, because he's the most effective creative force on this team. Until he takes the ball from his own half to score which will not happen, shut up.
@Zoltan lmfao, you realize Bruno Fernandes has been the best player in this world cup so far right?
@Zoltan sounds like you know a lot about soccer ( stick to your day job)
Come on the swis
ronaldo must be benched
@haemorrhage he should.
@haemorrhage Not only him. Look at my comment above!
@Zoltan 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games for Fernandes, you're a clown
I hope Portugal can win, they have a better team and can be organizated. Somethings need to change, maybe Dalot need to start to improve our game. Cancelo is comfortable on the left wing, but for that happen Neves maybe will leave for William… and that's already a lot of changes for the engineer. Switzerland are dangerous in front, Embolo is in good shape and can score here. Value bet Ronaldo to score (maybe twice with huge odd hehe), Ronaldo appears in these most important games, and will have one of the last opportunities to break yet another record. I just hope he doesn’t overdo greed. Possible good bets here: BTS/O2,5.. Ronaldo to score ht… O3,5… CS:3-1.. Also Ronaldo Bruno F. Embolo to score are good shots.
@papaitucano agree. Pepe starts, so the Swiss should score easily. Looks like 2-2 or 2-1 Portugal. Scorers indeed have value, especially when Ronaldo enters from the bench.
@koziol.mutant Pepe had good value to score or no?
2:3 to Switzerland!
if Pepe starts it is both to score of the century. Teams are equal IMO, coaches can change formations nearly at will. Ronaldo should score to equal Miro Klose's record. Draw ft, ET/penals for Portugal (Ronaldo to miss one).
@koziol.mutant Pepe have been the best CB in the world for decades lol dispite his age
@hellreaper especially in the Champions League in Porto lol
@koziol.mutant you clearly haven’t been watching Portugal play, Pepe has been solid at the back and will continue that tonight. Portugal won’t even concede tonight. Portugal will dominate possession and Switzerland will barely even have any chances
@Benard19 solid vs whom? losing to Korea?
@koziol.mutant so far everything I’ve said has come true no?
Over 2.5 goals @2.20
@yourfootballtips.com You realise that if Sommer is in form, no one can get past him. Even Bayern Munich failed this season!
@Zoltan hahahahaha looks like Portugal are going to put 3-4 past the “best”
Portugal 0 Switzerland 0. Portugal win 51-50 on penalties.
@JSOneHundred good prediction ahhahahahah
Portugal W
Switzerland will win..
@DanMan123 ahhahaha Dan The man with the stupid predictions back at it againnn!!
@Benard19 ok, fair enough. But you said, "Dan The man with the stupid predictions BACK AT IT AGAIN." Tell me, when was the first time?
@DanMan123 Nah
@hellreaper Yah.
@hellreaper If you say so.
@DanMan123 we do!!!!
3-1 to Portugal
Cristaldinho FTW!
Bet W1
not very familiar with switzerland, anythings possible ofcourse but just based on results and portugals play i dont really see an upset here. going forward, a lot of players seemingly in good form and highly inspired - fernandes, dalot, leao, of course cancelo and cr7 always a threat as well. aside from that they can seem a little shaky, not necessarily the defenders (theyve not been impeccable but certainly solid especially pepe) but the midfield, not so hard to navigate through them and get to their box by linking like 3 mid-range direct forward passes. while switzerland could certainly do it i think portu are a bit too solid to tap out just yet
