Team News

  • Nathan Jones will hope to have Theo Walcott, Alex McCarthy and Armel Bella-Kotchap available in some capacity here.
  • However, the Saints boss is without duo Juan Larios and Tino Livramento.
  • Eddie Howe is without only Matt Targett, Jonjo Shelvey and Emil Krafth for Tuesday's semi-final meeting with Southampton.
  • Alexander Isak may lead the charge in what should be a strong Newcastle XI.

  • Southampton fell to a late 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at the weekend, that result ending a three-game winning run in all competitions. One of those three wins came against Manchester City in the last round of the Carabao Cup, so Newcastle need to keep wits about them here.
  • A 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday night means the Magpies have won only two of their last six matches in all competitions. Conversely, they have lost only one of their last 19, that a surprise 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
  • The Magpies have won three of their last four trips to St. Mary's, and can take a big step towards a spot in the Carabao Cup final here.

  • I feel like Howe is using his first team guys too often, it may backfire on him down the stretch, I know he is playing it safe with Saint Maximin and Isak I hope to see both of them start next match, Almiron and Joelinton have got to be worn out and Wilson has been average really, I wouldn't back them to make top 4 I think Newcastle end up crumbling by the end of the season one injury to Schar or Trippier could cost them a fair amount of points. They are starting to Crack imo.

  • @FootyFiyah They do not have Europe, I think they will be okay.

  • Newcastle Win.They have named a very strong side.

  • Newcastle have had 3,000 fans make the long journey to Southampton for a midweek game which is amazing.
