Team News

  • Marseille will be without Andre Pierre-Gignac who is still recovering from a foot injury, while Gennaro Bracligliano will also miss out with a shoulder complaint.
  • Leyti N'Diaye has a thigh injury, and Senah Mango is out with an ankle problem.
  • However, OM will be able to call on a number of key players who are set to return. Jeremy Morel and Morgan Amalfitano are both available after serving suspensions, while Loic Remy is close to full fitness after coming off the bench against Lille.
  • Lyon have a number of injury concerns going into this vital clash.
  • Dejan Lovren will miss out with a quadriceps injury, while Jimmy Briand has a hamstring problem.
  • Striker Lisandro is out due to a calf injury, while Michel Bastos is still yet to return to full fitness.
  • Bafetimbi Gomis will be expected to continue to start on his own up front, while Yoann Gourcuff and Steed Malbranque should provide a creative presence for Remi Garde's men.

  • Marseille and Lyon meet at the Stade Velodrome knowing that a win could take either side to the top of the Ligue 1 table.
  • The home side moved level on points with leaders Paris Saint-Germain following their 1-0 win over Lille and will overtake them at the top if they are able to earn a point against Remi Garde's resurgent side.
  • Lyon have been much improved this term, but suffered a set back at the weekend as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Toulouse. However, if they are able to bounce back from that disappointing display and take the three points away from Provence, then they will be sitting pretty at the summit of the division.
  • Marseille may go into the game as slight favourites in front of their passionate home fans, however Lyon are no pushovers and will be eager to atone for last weekend's defeat. Expect a high-tempo game with plenty of chances, but even though both sides possess some dynamic attacking talent, a stalemate may well be the most likely outcome.
