Team News
Man Utd
Fulham
- United face difficulties at the back, where they are still without 4 of their central defenders, with Smalling, Ferdinand, Jones and Evans all out. Michael Carrick will likely deputise at the heart of the defence again.
- Robin van Persie should start for the first time in a Manchester United shirt after coming off the bench in the loss to Everton. Kagawa, who impressed on his debut, may be shifted out wide to make room for the Dutchman to play alongside Wayne Rooney.
- Darren Fletcher continues his recovery from illness but will not be involved.
- Mladen Petric will continue to lead the line for Fulham after a fantastic start to life at Craven Cottage, having scored 2 and set up another on his debut last week.
- Martin Jol could stick with the same team that thrashed Norwich 5-0 on the opening day, although an away game a Old Trafford requires quite a different game plan, so Jol's team selection could refelct that.
- Want-away striker Clint Dempsey lacks match fitness and will not play, while Kerim Frei and Philippe Senderos are both injured and miss out.
Dembele - wow. Love it when a player gets a really high score without getting a goal or assist. Just all round excellent.
And scores VP
Van Nistelrooy made his Old Traff debut in 2001 against Fulham. Here's to hoping we got a soaring dutchman. Buttner for Evra for Carrick for Scholes.
