Team News
Everton
Liverpool
- The likes of Fellaini, Gibson and Hibbert could all be back in contention to start, with the latter perhaps likely to get the nod over Coleman at right-back due to his experience in such big games.
- Gibson is likely to continue to miss out and due to the suspension of Steven Pienaar, Leon Osman may have to move out to the left of midfield.
- Jelavic will lead the line, with either Naismith or Anichebe as his main line of support through the middle.
- Jose Reina is a doubt for the visitors but should be fit following a rest in the Europa League, though Borini, Kelly and Lucas remain long term absentees.
- Rodgers could name an unchanged side to the team that beat Reading last weekend, putting faith in youngsters Wisdom, Sterling and Suso to overcome the occasion of their first Merseyside derby.
- This will be the first taste of derby action for the club for the likes of Allen and Sahin too, with Liverpool looking to the experience of captain Gerrard and striker Luis Suarez.
SUAREZ GOAL IN 94th MIN??!?!
robed
Everton deserve a win
Their formation isn't working for Liverpool. Sahin isn't seeing enough of the ball while the front three keep playing stupidly vertical without creating anything.
LIVERPOOL FUK..PLYING CHEAT!!STUPID REFLEE!!STUPID RAHEEM STERLING!
Liverpool win.
It's interesting that because Gerrard is taking too much initiative during the course of matches, his rating is higher than the two central midfielders who are playing better than him. He's doing more harm than good if you ask me.
everton run the merseyside now
Everton were the favorites for this derby up until the last couple of weeks. Now 2-2 seems to make sense. Expect a goal from Gerrard and assist from Baines.
