Newcastle
- Stoke may have the scoring ability of Michael Owen back in contention, after Tony Pulis confirmed that he is back in training, but he is only likely to appear as a sub.
- Wilkinson looks set to miss out again but is nearing recovery and could be back this weekend.
- Rory Delap still recovering from a Hernia operation. Wilson is still out so Ryan Shotton and Geoff Cameron could start as the full backs.
- Newcastle's heavy injury list and cluttered fixture schedule has seen them lose their last 3 games in a row, and only looks likely to get worse worse with their upcoming fixtures.
- Yohan Cabaye has undergone surgery and will be out until February, while Steven Taylor has a hamstring strain that will keep him out for the same period of time.
- Hopefully the return of Coloccini will help strengthen the Newcastle back 4. Taylor picked up a knock during the Southampton game and looks to doubtful to start.
- With Hatem Ben Arfa still out due to injury, Newcastle need to find that creative spark from elsewhere, otherwise they will find themselves falling even further down the league table.
low scoring game again. under 2.5 a good bet with newcastle off form
