- The red card that captain Vincent Kompany received during the Arsenal game has been rescinded, so he is available for selection.
- The Toure brothers, along with youngster Abdul Razak, are on international duty at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
- Sergio Aguero is back in contention but may not be rushed back following Dzeko's impressive display at the Emirates, while Samir Nasri, who returns from suspension, may also have to be patient after James Milner's starring role last time out.
- Steve Sidwell missed the game against Wigan with a knock but should be back in contention, though defender Philippe Senderos is a doubt after picking up a problem against Blackpool in midweek.
- If Sidwell can return it would allow Ruiz and Berbatov to push forward into the number 10 and 9 roles respectively, with Petric dropping to the bench.
- Elsewhere Richardson and Riise vie for a place at left-back, while Dejagah will hope to replace Damien Duff on the right wing.
I believe Riise is not even in the squad for this game following his dispute with manager Jol.
Tevez will not be on the bench for this one.. He is supposedly injured.
what about Tevez, is he out of shape?
