Team News
Aston Villa
Newcastle
- Fabian Delph has joined the injury list at Villa Park but Richard Dunne is making good progress in his recovery and could be back in contention along with Nathan Baker.
- Christian Benteke will return up front having been rested against Millwall, with Darren Bent's goal in that match unlikely to see him keep his place in the starting line-up.
- Elsewhere Ireland and Bannan will compete to start alongside Westwood, while Agbonlahor, Weimann and Holman are likely to contest two spots in the starting XI.
- As many as four Newcastle players could make debuts come Tuesday, with Yanga-Mbiwa and Sissoko perhaps most likely to start, and Gouffran and Haidara waiting for chances from the bench.
- Elsewhere fellow newcomer Mathieu Debuchy will continue to start at right-back with Danny Simpson out injured, while Ben Arfa is also still sidelined.
- Fabricio Coloccini has confirmed that he will stay at least until the end of the season and remain as club captain, though he may have a new defensive partner to combine with.
