Man City
Liverpool
- City looked short of ideas in attack against QPR and after the sale of Mario Balotelli to AC Milan was completed, their options have been cut up front.
- Edin Dzeko could return to the side in place of Carlos Tevez, while James Milner should move back out wide at the expense of Nasri.
- With Matija Nastasic back fully fit, Javi Garcia will move into midfield alongside Gareth Barry in the continued absence of Yaya Toure.
- Brendan Rodgers should name a similar side to the one that took a 2-goal lead at the Emirates in midweek, though Jose Enrique returned to action from the bench and could come in for Andre Wisdom.
- Elsewhere Stewart Downing's place will come under threat from Raheem Sterling and new signing from Inter Philippe Coutinho, who may make his debut from the bench on Sunday.
- Daniel Sturridge could also be sacrificed to allow Luis Suarez to move into his favoured central striker role, but the former City man may be given another chance against his old club.
