Schalke
Borussia M.Gladbach
- Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Benedikt Höwedes will probably start at centre-back again, allowing Atsuto Uchida to play at right-back. If Papadopoulos does not recover from a minor injury in time, Joel Matip will replace the Greek.
- Julian Draxler and Tranquillo Barnetta compete for the spot on the left wing, with Ibrahim Afellay still not fit again.
- Lewis Holtby should return to the first eleven as well, after being rested against Hamburg during the week.
- In the left-back position, captain Filip Daems is still not 100% fit so Oscar Wendt will start again.
- Alexander Ring and Lukas Rupp compete for the spot on the right wing.
- Mike Hanke and Igor de Camargo are both in contention for the spot alongside Patrick Hermann up front. The latter should be ahead in the manager's rankings though.
- Gladbach will probably field an unchanged team.
