Team News

  • New signing Felipe will probably start on the bench, with Serdar Tasci and Georg Niedermeier in solid form.
  • William Kvist could return to the starting line-up this weekend to play in defensive midfield.
  • Vedad Ibisevic returns from suspension to replace Shinji Okazaki up front. New striker Federico Macheda will start on the bench as well.
  • Jerome Boateng and Daniel van Buyten compete for a spot at centre-back, but the latter is likely to keep his spot in order to get some match practice with the Champions League games against Arsenal in mind, for which Boateng is suspended.
  • Javi Martinez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk compete for the spot alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger.
  • Arjen Robben could return to the starting eleven, with Thomas Müller or Toni Kroos dropping to the bench.

  • Stuttgart lost against Wolfsburg last weekend, but a solid run in December could give them confidence ahead of the game against Bayern.
  • Bayern are in great form and manager Heynckes has plenty of options in several positions. They are nine points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, but the players have to keep their focus, with Leverkusen and Dortmund lying in wait for any mistake the leaders might make.
  • Expect Bayern to dominate the game and Stuttgart to wait for chances on the break.
