- Deportivo return to the top-flight after a year's absence on the back of a record breaking season in the Segunda.
- Jose Luis Oltra's side stormed to promotion, collecting 91 points on the way, and will be confident of maintaining their Primera status after a few shrewd buys over the summer.
- The headline arrival has been Nelson Oliveira on-loan from Benfica and he seemed in fine form as he grabbed his first international goal on Wednesday.
- Former Villarreal duo Carlos Marchena and Jaiver Camunas will also add their experience and a host of other players from Portugal have been signed on loan deals, including ex-Atleti forward Pizzi.
- Osasuna, on the other hand, have lost a number of the key men that saw them finish seventh last season.
- Raul Garcia has returned to Atletico Madrid, Ibrahima Balde went to Russian side Kuban Krasnodar and Javad Nekounam has gone back to his native Iran after six successful years with the club.
