Team News
Real Valladolid
Athletic Club
- Valladolid were extremely unfortunate to lose out to Levante last weekend courtesy of a stoppage time own goal from Antonio Rukavina but Miroslav Djukic's men remain in the top half of the table and have won their last two home matches.
- Patrick Ebert remains the big absentee for La Pucela as he remains out with a hamstring injury, whilst Victor Perez also remains sidelined. Meanwhile, Manucho could start after returning from African Nations Cup duty with Angola.
- Mikel Balenziaga is also ineligible as he is on-loan from Athletic.
- The Basques produced their best performance of the season in beating Atletico Madrid 3-0 last weekend, but Marcelo Bielsa will be forced into at least one change as Borja Ekiza misses out with an ankle problem.
- The defender's absence has meant a recall to the squad for Fernando Amorebieta but it is more likely to be Carlos Gurpegi who starts alongside Aymeric Laporte in central defence.
- Fernando Llorente also misses out once more with a knee injury, but Bielsa would have named Aritz Aduriz in his starting line-up anyway and he will again be flanked by Oscar de Marcos, Markel Susaeta and Ander Herrera.
