Team News

Granada
Atletico
  • Granada got a much needed win at Betis last time out to ease the pressure on Juan Antonio Anquela, but they remain just one point above the relegation zone.
  • Having achieved that first victory in five, though Anquela is unlikely to tinker too much with the side that started against Betis.
  • Guillherme Siqueira should return at left-back in place of Brayan Angulo, whilst Anquela must also decide whether to recall Diego Mainz or stick with the partnership of Pape Diakhate and Borja Gomez in central defence.
  • Atleti responded well after suffering defeat for the first time in the league since April as they beat Getafe 2-0 last weekend to retain their place in second, just three points off Barcelona.
  • Diego Simeone also has the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from although a number of players, particularly Juanfran and Radamel Falcao, had grueling trips away with their national sides in midweek.

Prediction

  • This will be another test of how far Simeone's Atleti have come, but they have already shown their ability to win difficult games on the road this season at Betis and Sociedad and should have way too much quality for a Granada side that particularly struggles in defensive areas.
  • Radamel Falcao is in the midst of a goal drought by his standards after not scoring in his last two outings for Atleti so look for him to get back on the scoresheet and if anyone is to cause the visitors problems it will be Youssef El-Arabi who has struck four times in his last five games.
