Team News

  • Betis moved level with Malaga in fourth as they won away for the sixth time in nine games this season at Zaragoza last Friday night.
  • Ruben Castro and Jorge Molina were the two who once again got the goals and there is a chance the latter may be rewarded with a start, but it seems more likely Pepe Mel will stick with two wide players so Alex Pozuelo could replace Nosa who has gone off the the African Nations with Nigeria.
  • A bigger miss for the hosts will be Beñat who is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season, so Ruben Perez should return in midfield.
  • Levante meanwhile are just a point behind their opponents this weekend as they started 2013 with a 3-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.
  • Los Granotes will also be boosted by the return of Obafemi Martins who was suspended for that game so Roger will again be relegated to the bench.
  • Vicente Iborra is banned though so Miguel Pallardo may get a rare start alongside Pape Diop, whilst Jose Barkero is also a doubt with a muscle injury.

  • As good as Betis have been on the road, they have often stumbled at home losing five of their nine games there this season and the absence of Beñat is likely to be significant as Levante sit in and look to hit their opponents on the counter-attack.
  • The hosts do still have Ruben Castro though, who is in fine form with four goals in his last five games and this could easily be Los Verdiblancos first draw at the Benito Villamarin this season.
