Team News

  • Antonio Conte should have pretty much the whole squad available, with Pepe being the only injured player.
  • Marchisio and Buffon have had some fitness troubles with the national team, but Juve's staff should be able to have them fit for the match.
  • If the midfielder can't recover in time, Giaccherini should be first in line to replace Marchisio.
  • Mazzarri will not be able to call up Britos, but he can pick freely from the rest of the squad.
  • Hamsik should keep his central position, and will probably be in charge of disturbing Pirlo's playmaking.
  • Some players will only have a couple of days to prepare for the match after their fixtures with the national teams.

  • The hosts have the knowledge of being stronger in the long run on their side, so winning against direct rivals is not really mandatory. Nevertheless, playing at the Juventus stadium will add pressure and could lead the team to push rather than control the match with the score in the balance.
  • Given the lack of a great deal of challengers to the title and without the burden of the Champions League, Napoli must feel this is the year to try and satisfy their Scudetto ambitions. However, to get there they must prove that they can battle with Juve, so they will not travel to Turin just to grab a point.
  • The atmosphere will be hot for more than just one reason. The title fight, the legacy of the Supercup match when Napoli didn't attend the trophy ceremony, the focus some Italian media put on the referee and the discussion about players involved in their national teams' fixtures will all play their part. The Bianconeri have had Buffon and Marchisio injured, while Napoli have seen some of their players return as late as Thursday afternoon.
  • The game will be intense, but both teams should be mature enough to avoid overstepping the mark. Last season Conte and Mazzarri had some troubles managing their players' stamina when facing more than one match per week, while this year Juventus have improved their performance without applying heavy rotation. It will be interesting to see the marking in the middle of the field, with Hamsik on Pirlo but also Marchisio or Vidal on Hamsik, so the key to the match could end up coming from the flanks.

  • Inler was one of Napoli's best players, despite the fact that he should have accumulated 5 yellow cards in the match.

  • Inler is a disgrace however forza Juve!

  • Buffon and Vucinic is out and @berhin Napoli lost 3-0 to PSV with a second string team

  • vucinic is out

  • The wing back battles should be fun, along with the rest of the many matchups.

  • 3-1 victory for Juve. Reasons: a) Juve are playing at home. b) With Chiellini back, Juve's ability to contain Napoli's counterattacking is much improved. c) Juve are consistent while Napoli are hot-and-cold. Case in point - 4-0 win against AIK followed by a 3-0 loss to PSV. d) Napoli's defense is overrated.

  • Dont see Juve losing. 1-1 draw.

  • This will most likely be a feast on the eyes.
