Team News

  • Astori picked a suspension in the match against Inter and will therefore be replaced by Ariaudo in the defence.
  • Dessena is still favoured over Ekdal to join Conti and Nainggolan in midfield.
  • Cossu will support Pinilla and Sau up front, with Ribeiro and Ibarbo on the bench.
  • Cavani is suspended, so he will miss the trip to Cagliari after scoring the late match-winner in the Europa League clash.
  • Pandev and Insigne will play in attack, with Hamsik just behind them in the trequartista role.
  • Zuniga and Behrami's presence should keep Dossena and Dzemaili on the bench.

  • Cagliari went very close to winning in Milan last week, and the Sardinians are currently sitting pretty safely, far above the relegation zone. Thus, morale is high and Pulga goes into another tough match with little pressure on him.
  • Napoli were overtaken by Fiorentina in third place after drawing at home against Milan, and this time out they will be missing goalscorer Cavani. Also playing on Monday may bring extra pressure as a consequence of their rivals' results.
  • The visitors will try to keep the tempo high, but may lack clinical finishing up front without Cavani. Cagliari will have to avoid conceding too much space to Insigne and try to slow down the pace of the game in order to try and force Napoli into making errors.
