Team News

  • Guarin is suspended, which means that Stramaccioni will not be able to use him as a balanced solution between 3-5-2 and 3-4-1-2.
  • Palacio is likely to be the support for the two forwards, after playing the final minutes of the Coppa Italia clash against Verona as a goalkeeper.
  • Nagatomo is injured and was granted permission to go on holiday and meet his family in Japan.
  • After struggling with different formations, coach Delneri will probably go back to his typical 4-4-2.
  • Jankovic and Moretti are unavailable, so Rossi and Vargas will play on the two flanks with Sampirisi and Antonelli acting as cover in behind.
  • Immobile and Borriello will both start up front once again.

  • Inter dropped points again in the last round, but Napoli's points penalisation kept the Neroazzurri in pole position to challenge Juve for the title. Stramaccioni just needs a win here and then he will have time to re-organise the team and possibly benefit from the transfer market.
  • Genoa failed to win at home against Torino, and now they will travel to the Meazza for an even tougher task. Just one point here would be a bonus, but not enough to get out of their tricky league position, so sooner or later Delneri will have to choose between taking a few risks and trying to get a draw.
  • The hosts may even let Genoa try to attack in the first part of the match, in order to make them lose balance and strike on the counter-attack. Genoa's attitude will determine the pattern of the game, as Stramaccioni will need to be more offensive if the first half does not produce many goal scoring chances. Inter will be without a couple of key players, but in the end they are strongly favoured to get three points.
