Team News

  • Delio Rossi will retain most of the XI that played against Juventus, with the exception of Berardi, who is suspended.
  • De Silvestri is ready to replace him and patrol the right flank.
  • Pozzi and Maxi Lopez are both unavailable, so Icardi and Eder are pretty safe to play up front.
  • Allegri has to choose between Acerbi and De Sciglio to partner Mexes. The latter could also play as right or left back.
  • Abate, Antonini and Mesbah have all received offers from different teams, with Zenit, Galatasaray and Parma all interested respectively.
  • Mesbah should join the Crociati in the deal that is going to bring Zaccardo to Milan.

  • Sampdoria just ended a three-match losing streak with an unexpected victory in Turin against league-leaders Juventus. Their previous match against Milan (in San Siro) is also a sweet memory after the Doriani started the season with a victory over the Rossoneri.
  • Milan are still working hard in the transfer market to get the improvements they need to seize a Champions League spot for next season, while Allegri seems to be keen on keeping the 4-3-3 formation, with the chance of turning to 4-2-3-1 in the second half when things get tougher.
  • Beating Juventus last week must have given Sampdoria the confidence they need to contain a strong side like Milan, so the visitors must be patient and wait for the right goalscoring chance, rather than blindly attacking and being exposed to counter-attacks.
