Team News

  • Coach Maran will have to think about replacing Lodi for at least three weeks as he picked up a suspension last week.
  • The playmaker is also in talks with both clubs in Milan, so he may have played his last match for Catania against Lazio in the Coppa Italia.
  • The temporary solution would be having Izco or Almiron in front of the defence, but the club should already be thinking about buying a new playmaker.
  • Medical checks showed that Osvaldo's knee is fine, so he should be available for the Catania trip.
  • Marquinhos is back from suspension but caught the flu. He may start on the bench and work to get back to full fitness next week.
  • As Pjanic is suspended, Florenzi will probably win a place in midfield, moving Bradley on to the right hand side.

  • Catania rank sixth in terms of their home record, where they have collected 20 of their 26 points so far. However, the Sicilian side is now facing transfer speculation that could weaken their strength, together with Lodi's suspension.
  • Roma are also strong when playing away from the Olimpico, picking up 15 points on the road. In their last two away matches, though, Zeman's team haven't won any points and conceded 5 goals in the process.
  • Catania's solid midfield may be the perfect match for Roma's dynamic and offensive playing style. The hosts should be able to take control of the midfield, while Roma should be stronger on the flanks. For this reason, Gomez and Barrientos will surely be asked to help the midfield and follow the opposing full-backs' runs.
