Team News

  • Petkovic will be without Brocchi, Mauri and Ledesma in midfield, and he's probably going to start with a 4-4-2 with both Floccari and Kozak up front.
  • A different solution to keep his usual 4-1-4-1 would be having Cana in front of the defence in what is usually Ledesma's spot.
  • Ciani is favoured over Dias to partner Biava in defence.
  • Pescara will be missing three key players who are suspended: Blasi, Weiss and Zanon will not travel to Rome.
  • Coach Bergodi will opt for a 3-5-2 to cope with his many absentees, with two defensive wingers in Balzano and Zauri.
  • Abbruscato will probably replace Caraglio and partner Celik up front.

  • Lazio have a great chance to end their 5-match streak without victory here, just after Inter and Milan cancelled each other out in the race for a Champions League spot.
  • At the weekend, Palermo and Genoa got only one point each, Siena and Atalanta lost, while Bologna have a tough game on Tuesday. Pescara must take the chance to put pressure on their rivals, possibly with a more ambitious approach to this game than they might normally take.
  • Petkovic didn't rotate for the Europa League, and he should be rewarded for being one of the few coaches to do so with an Italian club. That said, some fatigue could affect his team and Lazio will have to make the choice between pressing hard from the start - with the chance of getting no result and be tired in the second part of the game - and letting Pescara come out to attack, leaving space at the back. Quality of the pitch and squad depth - since Pescara have to face some suspensions - will probably bring the points to the hosts.
